Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Wanderlei Silva! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jon Jones! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Robert Twigg and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Silva wants to control the position but Jones says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. Silva trying to control from the bottom.
Jones sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Silva defending well though. Silva is staying active underneath Jones, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Jones stands up from half guard. Silva misses with a takedown attempt letting Jones counter with a right hand. Jones fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Silva sprawls well initially but Jones persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Jones keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Silva is staying active underneath Jones, who seems content to just control the action from this position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jones is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Silva doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Jones. Jones wants to lay and pray for a moment but Silva keeps working.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Silva is trying to control but can't.
Jones is looking to advance position but Silva won't allow it. Silva wants to improve his position but Jones is controlling well.
Jones seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones wants to control but Silva is keeping him busy. Jones is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Silva doesn't succeed with the takedown and Jones counters with a nice double leg into guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Silva is breathing heavily. Silva is trying to control the position but Jones postures up. Silva keeping moving, preventing Jones from controlling successfully.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Silva is trying to keep Jones in close.

Silva is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Jones passes easily into side control. Nice work. Jones fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Silva wants to clinch up but Jones keeps it at a distance. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Silva checks a leg kick. Silva misses with a two punch combination.

He's all about the action. Silva tries to get to full guard but Jones has control of the leg. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Silva fails with the takedown. Jones closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Silva is stalling here.
Silva jumps guard but Jones stands there with Silva around his waist. Silva gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Silva is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Jones pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Silva is keeping the position for now.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Jones shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Silva shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Jones counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Silva! That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Wanderlei Silva. That's going to take a lot out of him. Jones working for a submission but Silva is keeping him at bay. Silva tries to reverse the position but Jones maintains control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jon Jones showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Jones controlling the pace. Jones lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Silva tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Jones looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Silva wants to get back to full guard but Jones has passed into side control. Jones looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Wanderlei Silva has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Jon Jones is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Silva defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Jones.
And that's the end of the fight! Jon Jones comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Jones has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
