Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Owin Erl (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Portland Bill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Owin Erl! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Portland Bill! The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Daniel Bishop and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Erl misses with a jab, cross combination.
Erl scores with a jab. Bill acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Bill displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Erl throws out the jab. Erl scores with a nice right hand.
Erl throws a leg kick and Bill counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Erl can't keep his opponent in guard - Bill advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Bill thows a huge punch but Erl dodges it nicely.
Erl avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Bill. Erl on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Erl is refusing to be controlled, as Bill sits in half guard. Bill sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Erl defending well though. Bill seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
That's one minute gone in the round. Erl is trying to stand up here but Bill is controlling him well. Erl on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Erl tries to get out of the position. Erl is trying to maintain the position but Bill is very close to passing his half guard. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Bill lands a nice short elbow. Erl is pressing down on Bill's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Bill throwing strikes but missing. The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Erl tries to bum rush Bill with a series of wild strikes but Bill uses good footwork to avoid the assault. A combination from Erl does no damage. Bill feints the counter takedown. Some wild striking there from Erl.
A low kick from Erl misses and Bill counters with a takedown into side control. Erl takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Erl wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Erl tries to buck Bill off but Bill is having none of it. My spies in Arm Breakers/BJJ inform me that Bill has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends! Bill creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Erl sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Erl regains half guard there - taking advantage of Bill's attempt to lay and pray for a moment. Erl is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Bill scores with a couple of nice shots. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Erl gets back to full guard.
Bill connects with a couple of short punches. Bill is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Erl has control of Bill's left arm, preventing Bill from doing any damage.

Portland Bill dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Erl clinches. Erl breaks from the clinch.
Bill throws a lazy right hand but Erl sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Bill avoids the body shot from Erl.

and Bill counters with a nice double leg into guard. Erl controls Bill momentarily but Bill frees himself. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bill trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bill postures up.
Bill makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Bill has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

We've been hearing good reports from Erl's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Bill trying to control the position from guard on top but Erl is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Erl wants to stand but Bill is controlling the position. Bill throwing strikes but missing.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Decent striking displayed by Erl there. Erl instigates a clinch. Erl breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Bill is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Erl throws a right and a left that both miss. Erl fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Bill misses with a body shot.

A countering left hand to the body from Bill misses. Erl throws a hook but Bill avoids it easily. A little jabbing left from Bill on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Erl throws a right hand that Bill ducks under and follows up with a left that Bill also avoids with ease. This has been an exciting period of action! Erl looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Bill is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Bill takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Owin Erl dominated that second round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
