Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Gonzo Latulipe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Brian Middleston!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Leandro Rodrigues and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Latulipe drives through and clinches with Middleston against the cage.
Middleston looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Middleston jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Latulipe is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Latulipe and Middleston has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Middleston drops back, looking for a kneebar! Latulipe looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Latulipe looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Latulipe!

Latulipe stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Latulipe looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Middleston!

Latulipe has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Middleston wants to control but Latulipe is having none of it.

Latulipe stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
Latulipe shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Middleston as he avoids it easily.

Good leg kick by Latulipe there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Middleston gets caught flat footed, as Latulipe shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Middleston might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Latulipe kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Gonzo Latulipe.
Well Latulipe has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
