Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Aaron Yates (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and JJ McNee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Aaron Yates!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, JJ McNee!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Santiago Holmes and Dirk Anderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yates takes a swing at McNee's ribcage but misses.
A nice side step and McNee releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
McNee on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Yates throws a right and a left that both miss.
Yates scoring well with a low kick there.
Yates throws a right hand that McNee ducks under and follows up with a left that McNee also avoids with ease.
McNee avoids the head kick by Yates.
Yates misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
A little jabbing left from McNee on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Aaron Yates seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Yates throws a lazy body kick
and McNee connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Yates throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Yates is looking to land body kicks.
Yates takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

A bone on bone clash there as Yates blocks the leg kick.
McNee looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

and McNee counters with a nice uppercut.
The fighters circle momentarily. McNee darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Yates throws a series of punches but McNee moves out of range.
Yates falls off balance throwing a combination
and McNee counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Yates is breathing heavily.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Yates throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
McNee replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Yates blocks it well.
Yates throws a series of punches but McNee moves out of range.
Yates avoids a kick to the body.
Yates fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and McNee has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
McNee is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Yates.

Yates throws a push kick but McNee slaps the foot to one side.
Yates goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Yates moves out of range as McNee strikes.

and McNee counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

McNee throws a lazy right hand but Yates sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
McNee connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Yates momentarily.

A looping hook to the body misses from McNee. Yates does a little dance to reset his feet.
McNee lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

and McNee counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

McNee throws a body kick that misses.
Yates blocks the body kick.
McNee misses with a head kick.
Yates feinted with a counter takedown.
Yates takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Yates misses the shot to the body.

and McNee makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

McNee wants to pass the guard but Yates is keeping the position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

McNee postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as McNee accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Yates has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from McNee finds it's way round the side to connect with Yates's head.

Oh Yates is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

McNee has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

JJ McNee comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well McNee has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
