Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Roger Rydell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lucas Katzers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Roger Rydell! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Lucas Katzers! The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, David Hoff and Peter Branson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rydell tries to keep at a distance but Katzers has taken the fight into the clinch. Katzers wants to break the clinch but can't.
Katzers being controlled against the cage. Katzers is defending well against a takedown attempt. Katzers tries to pull guard but Rydell won't allow it.
Katzers fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Katzers wants to break free but Rydell has control.
Rydell goes for a takedown attempt but Katzers pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rydell tries a head kick but it misses.
Katzers dives in for a single leg takedown but Rydell sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Roger Rydell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lucas Katzers. Katzers doesn't manage to clinch there - Rydell circles away.
Rydell fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Katzers, pushing him back against the cage. Katzers is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Rydell to keep the fight standing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rydell ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Rydell no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Rydell throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Katzers looking to sit in guard and control but Rydell gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Katzers trying to control the position.
Katzers tries to land a sweep but no joy. Rydell trying to control the position from guard on top but Katzers is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Katzers wants to sweep but no luck. Katzers looking for subs off his back but Rydell has passed one foot through into half guard.
Katzers wants to get back to full guard. Katzers scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Rydell manages to mount him!
Rydell takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Rydell lands a big elbow. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Katzers is trying to reverse the position but instead Rydell has taken his back - oops! A lull in the action here.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Rydell trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Katzers doesn't escape. Rydell looking to break Katzers's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Katzers remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Rydell will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke! Katzers staying busy and making it hard for Rydell to control. Rydell has good solid back control here. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Roger Rydell dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Rydell clinches up with Katzers and pushes him back against the cage. Rydell is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Katzers can do to turn this around? Rydell successfully pulls guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Katzers can do anything to dispel that myth. Rydell advances position into side control! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Katzers dodges the ground and pound from Rydell.

Katzers seems a little lost for a moment, as Rydell dominates the positioning. Katzers is looking to reverse the position. Rydell thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Rydell trying to control the position but Katzers is working away. Rydell scores with punches from side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Katzers is not content to let Rydell control the position. Rydell decides to stand back up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Katzers tries to close the distance and clinch up but Rydell swats him away and circles back towards the center. Rydell shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Rydell showed some decent athleticism there. Katzers is not content to let Rydell control the position. Rydell is working for a submission of some sort.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rydell looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Katzers wants to control the action here but instead Rydell manages to pass to full mount! Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Rydell can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Katzers is looking to escape. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Roger Rydell dominated that second round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
Katzers lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Rydell has Katzers up against the cage in a clinch.
Rydell has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Katzers is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Katzers stalling in the clinch but Rydell improves position. Katzers jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Rydell walks away with a smile on his face. Katzers gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. A combination from Katzers does no damage. Katzers fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Rydell avoids it really well and circles away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Katzers wants to clinch up but Rydell keeps it at a distance. Rydell tries to counter by clinching up but Katzers breaks away and moves out of range. Katzers blocks a head kick by Rydell.
That's one minute gone in the round. Katzers feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Katzers takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Rydell has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Katzers doesn't defend quickly enough and Rydell has managed to lock this one up! Can Katzers escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Rydell on a fantastic submission victory.
