Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Carter Martin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pat Barry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
16 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Carter Martin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
33 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Pat Barry! The judges for this bout are Ben Watson, Ron Honeybunn and Ben Hemmingworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Martin paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Martin smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
It looks like Pat Barry has been cut. Martin throws a quick inside leg kick. A head kick misses from Barry. Nice body punch from Barry. Barry throws a lazy head kick letting Martin counter with a right hand. Martin throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Martin will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Martin takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Barry falls off balance throwing a combination
and Martin counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Barry thinking. This has been an exciting period of action! Barry keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
A jab from Barry does it's job there. Martin scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Martin walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. A looping hook to the body misses from Martin. Barry does a little dance to reset his feet. Martin loads up on a big right hand but Barry slips the punch. Despite the aggression on Barry's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. Martin scores with a jab to the jaw.
That's one minute gone in the round. Barry throws the left hand but Martin avoids the punch easily. Barry lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Barry. Martin misses with a double jab
and Barry counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Martin is rocked! Whack! Barry lands a heavy head kick that drops Martin. The ref tackles Barry to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Martin was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Pat Barry! An out of breath Pat Barry thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
