The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bear might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Huber haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Max Bear dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Huber shoots in looking for a takedown but Bear manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Huber's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Bear bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Huber's head backwards.

Bear must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Bear wants to get up but he can't break Huber's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Huber is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Bear defends well.

Huber working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Bear doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Huber is tightening it up a little... Bear has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Bear reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Bear taps out! Nice BJJ there by Huber!

After the fight, Mario Huber was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
