Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Freedom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Garfield Sobers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Freedom comes to the cage accompanied by Johnny Freedom. The crowd seem to be enjoying Sobers's choice of entrance music: Suck it bitch, You dirty bitch. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Freedom uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Sobers.
Sobers throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Freedom throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Sobers cracks Freedom with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Freedom misses with a wild body shot.
Sobers throws out a counter right but Freedom avoids it with no problem.

It seemed like Sobers was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Freedom.
Freedom throws an overhand right that lands on Sobers's shoulder, as Sobers tries to avoid the shot.
Garfield Sobers seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Sobers has the hooks in. Freedom is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

Sobers fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Freedom looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
A looping hook to the body misses from Sobers. Freedom does a little dance to reset his feet.
Freedom steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Sobers.
Sobers tests Freedom's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Sobers throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Freedom jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Sobers is defended easily by Freedom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Sobers is trying to trip Freedom. He has hold of a leg but Freedom is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Sobers persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Freedom has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Sobers has passed into side control.

Freedom avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Sobers.
Freedom wants to control but Sobers postures up.
Sobers throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sobers has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Sobers, as that shot connected.

Freedom tries to keep at a distance but Sobers has taken the fight into the clinch.
