Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Uriah Faber! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Knock Out! The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Peter Branson and David Hoff.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Faber tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Out swivels and escapes. Faber dives in for a single leg takedown but Out sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Out bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Faber's head.
It looks like Uriah Faber has been cut. Faber fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Uriah Faber. That's going to take a lot out of him. Faber tries for a takedown but Out circles away easily and Out moves into the clinch. Faber tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Out just stands there and leans against the cage. Nice body punch from Out. Faber is trying to pull guard but Out has him pressed against the cage. Faber jumps guard but Out turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Faber's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Faber tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Out smiles and moves away.
Uriah Faber seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Out lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Out steps in with a hook that catches Faber right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Out follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Faber looks absolutely devastated.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Knock Out! Knock Out is the new heavyweight champion! Knock Out seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
