Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lucas Hood!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Leonidas Sparta!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Leandro Rodrigues and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hood wants to clinch but Sparta slips to the side
so Sparta counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Hood wants to stand but Sparta is controlling the position.
Sparta controls from within his opponent's guard.
Hood is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Hood is working an open guard so Sparta takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Hood looks to throw the jab but Sparta is out of range.
Sparta gets a clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hood is looking to break free of the clinch but Sparta has double underhooks.
Sparta's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Hood tries to close the distance and clinch but Sparta swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Hood misses with a series of wild punches.

and Hood takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Sparta showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Hood.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Sparta darts in and clinches Hood up against the cage.
Sparta drags the fight down to the ground.
Sparta lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
Sparta content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Sparta landing with the ground and pound.
Hood is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Sparta is controlling him.
Sparta looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hood wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Sparta manages to pass to side control.
Hood is trying to stand up here but Sparta is controlling him well.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sparta stands up and beckons Hood to join him on the feet.
Hood gets a double leg takedown into Sparta's guard.
Sparta is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Hood presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sparta breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Hood tries to bum rush Sparta with a series of wild strikes but Sparta uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Sparta pushes Hood up against the cage in a clinch.
Sparta throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Hoods head.
Sparta has clasped his hands together around Hood's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Hood knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Sparta on the ground.
You can see the frustration on Hood's face as Sparta controls the position.
Sparta has an Americana. Hood didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Sparta is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Sparta hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
