The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cierpka takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

and Cierpka counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Cierpka forces Azevedo back against the cage and clinches.
Cierpka lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Azevedo backwards.
Azevedo wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Cierpka prevents Azevedo from breaking the clinch.
Cierpka stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Cierpka pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Azevedo trying to control the position but instead, Cierpka has worked for underhooks and has pushed Azevedo into the cage.
Nice body punch from Cierpka - that landed with a thud.
Cierpka lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Azevedo or not.
Cierpka lands a right hand that snaps the head of Azevedo backwards.
Cierpka breaks from the clinch.
Cierpka tries to bum rush Azevedo with a series of wild strikes but Azevedo uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Augusto Azevedo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cierpka lands with a big left! Azevedo is wobbled badly! Cierpka comes in with a flurry of punches and drops Azevedo to the floor. The ref jumps in to save him from unneccessary punishment.
