Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Morgan Richardson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alec Silifant (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Morgan Richardson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Alec Silifant!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Paul Tew and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Richardson shoots in looking for a takedown but Silifant manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Richardson's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Silifant moves into the clinch.
The referee is keeping an eye on Richardson - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Richardson lands with a right to the head.
Silifant goes for a takedown attempt but Richardson pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Silifant closes the distance and clinches up with Richardson, looking for a takedown. Silifant pushes Richardson against the cage but Richardson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Silifant looking to land some kicks to the body here.

Richardson drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
You can see the frustration on Silifant's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Silifant is trying to get back to half guard.

Silifant throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
Silifant has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Alec Silifant seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Silifant shoots in for a takedown but Richardson shows good takedown defense.
Morgan Richardson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alec Silifant.
Silifant scores with a head kick. Richardson tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.


It looks like Morgan Richardson has been cut.
Silifant fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Richardson avoids it really well and circles away.
Horrible takedown attempt by Richardson or perhaps it was just good defense by Silifant, which made it look bad.
Richardson could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

and Richardson counters by moving into the clinch.

Richardson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Richardson.

Richardson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Silifant shoots in looking for a takedown. Richardson tries to sprawl out of it but Silifant keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Richardson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Richardson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Silifant's waist but Silifant gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Richardson off to one side.

Richardson closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Richardson lands in his opponent's guard.

Silifant looking for a sweep but Richardson has passed into full mount! Oh no!
Silifant is trying desperately to improve position.
Silifant keeps trying to improve his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Morgan Richardson will probably get the nod.

Richardson dives in for a single leg takedown but Silifant sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Silifant steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Richardson.
Richardson tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Silifant swivels and escapes.

Silifant instigates a clinch.
Silifant tries to work over Richardson's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Richardson manages to break the clinch.
Silifant scores with a push kick.
Richardson shoots in but Silifant avoids the takedown attempt easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Morgan Richardson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Richardson shoots in for a double leg but Silifant sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A head kick misses from Richardson.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Silifant shoots in but no luck this time.
Silifant looks for a takedown but Richardson sprawls well.

Richardson tries to clinch up but Silifant circles away and keeps his distance.
Silifant wants to counter with a clinch but Richardson pushes him away.
Silifant fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Silifant lands a jab to the head.

Silifant moves into range and clinches up with Richardson.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Richardson.
Richardson lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Silifant backwards.

Richardson manages to break the clinch.

Silifant shoots in and gets a takedown into Richardson's guard.
Richardson wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Silifant manages to pass to side control.
Richardson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Silifant on the ground.

Silifant trying to control the action but Richardson is working from the bottom.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Silifant in particular looking to stall.
Silifant moves nicely into side control.

Silifant is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

Silifant looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Silifant is looking to take a break and control but Richardson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Silifant advances to full mount.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Silifant lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Richardson is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Richardson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Silifant cracks Richardson with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!
