Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Turner Hooch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Evgeny Sotin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Turner Hooch has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Turner Hooch!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Evgeny Sotin!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Vladimir Khabensky and Aleksei Zolotukhin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Good standup being displayed there by Hooch as he connects with a hook.
Sotin throws a left and a right that both miss
and Hooch cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Sotin walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Hooch throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Sotin throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Sotin looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Hooch works Sotin's body with a nice hook.
Hooch misses with a body kick.
Sotin fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Sotin clinches up with Hooch and pushes him back against the cage.

Hooch manages to break the clinch.
Hooch throws a sloppy head kick and Sotin moves out of range easily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Hooch wants to get back to striking at distance but Sotin won't allow it.
Sotin misses with a knee to the head.

Hooch blocks an uppercut.

Our sources have told us that Hooch has been working on his knees in the buildup to the fight.
Sotin keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Hooch's efforts to push away.
Sotin's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Sotin tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Hooch avoids it.

Hooch has closed the distance and engaged Sotin in a clinch.
Hooch wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Sotin lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.


It looks like Turner Hooch has been cut.
Sotin throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Hooch blocks it with crossed arms.
Sotin lands a good knee to the midsection. Hooch won't want to take too many of those.
Sotin keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Hooch's efforts to push away.
With the fighters up against the cage, Sotin throws an elbow but misses.
Sotin prevents Hooch from breaking the clinch.

Sotin connects with a knee to the head.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Hooch pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Hooch avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Sotin throws a shot to the body.
A chopping leg kick lands by Sotin.
Turner Hooch seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hooch throws a head kick but Sotin moves out of range.

Hooch gets a clinch.
Sotin landing knees to the head.
Sotin tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

Sotin is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

Sotin has Hooch pressed against the cage, preventing Hooch from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

That's time! Hooch's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Sotin lands with an uppercut that bounces Hooch off the cage and back into range.
Sotin lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
A nice inside leg kick there by Sotin. That's going to slow Hooch down.

Hooch clinches.
Sotin has Hooch pressed up against the cage in a tight Thai clinch. Hooch is arching his back, trying to avoid the knees but a big one sneaks through from Sotin - that's hurt Hooch badly! Oh, another knee lands and Hooch is covering up! The referee steps in to save him - possibly a bit early but Hooch doesn't seem to be complaining.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:24 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Knees). Evgeny Sotin!
Evgeny Sotin seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
