Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Nigel McHughes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paddy Bateman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think McHughes might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Welcome To My Hood. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Tiny Johnson and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McHughes throws a leg kick which misses Bateman's front leg but catches the back leg as Bateman tries to avoid it.
Bateman throws a right hand that misses
letting McHughes counter with a right hand.
Bateman throws a hook to the side of McHughes's head but McHughes sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Bateman throws a jab when McHughes was well out of range.
McHughes misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Bateman misses with a hook
and McHughes counters with a nice uppercut.
Bateman smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
McHughes lands with an uppercut that bounces Bateman off the cage and back into range.
McHughes throws a series of punches but Bateman avoids them all with ease.

letting McHughes counter with a right hand.
McHughes throws a front kick aimed at Bateman's knee but Bateman avoids it well.
Bateman scores with a nice strike.
This has been an exciting period of action!
McHughes dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
McHughes steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Bateman.
McHughes tries to counter by clinching up but Bateman breaks away and moves out of range.
Bateman fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging McHughes to the ground. Bateman is now in McHughes's guard.
Bateman is pushing down on McHughes's leg trying to pass to half guard. McHughes is fighting to maintain full guard but Bateman has managed to sneak the leg through.
Bateman wants to work for an arm triangle but McHughes is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Bateman looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

McHughes is controlling Bateman's position as best he can from this difficult position.
McHughes won't allow Bateman to pass to mount.
Bateman is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and McHughes defends it well.
Bateman tries to pass to full mount but McHughes defends it.
Bateman is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Bateman is stalling here. McHughes is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Bateman seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and McHughes has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

McHughes is trying to get an arm triangle but Bateman is defending well.
