Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Shamus McGillicuddy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mighty Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McGillicuddy comes to the cage accompanied by DJ Shadow featuring Run The Jewels - Nobody Speak. Mighty Johnson has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Shamus McGillicuddy's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Shamus McGillicuddy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mighty Johnson! The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Richard Clark and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson takes a swing at McGillicuddy's ribcage but misses. McGillicuddy with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Johnson paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. McGillicuddy displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Johnson throws out the jab. Nice body punch from McGillicuddy. Johnson defending well as McGillicuddy loads up on a big left hand. Johnson misses with a looping right. Johnson throws a predictable looking body shot
and McGillicuddy counters with a stiff right hand. Johnson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
McGillicuddy tries to bum rush Johnson with a series of wild strikes but Johnson uses good footwork to avoid the assault. McGillicuddy swings and misses with a hook to the body.
McGillicuddy walks into a straight right hand from Johnson. McGillicuddy throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Johnson sees it coming and avoids it easily. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Johnson misses with a right hand and Johnson takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Mighty Johnson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's one minute gone in the round. Johnson throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. McGillicuddy throwing a counter right hand but Johnson manages to avoid it. Johnson misses with a straight left. Johnson has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Johnson ducks right into an uppercut from McGillicuddy. Johnson wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. McGillicuddy takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Johnson clobbers McGillicuddy with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Johnson misses the shot to the body. Johnson lands with a nice body punch. McGillicuddy throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Johnson misses the body punch letting McGillicuddy counter with a right hand. McGillicuddy just misses with a punch to the body.
Johnson connects with a jab. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! McGillicuddy drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. McGillicuddy working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McGillicuddy tries to score with some ground and pound. Johnson controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. McGillicuddy misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
We've been hearing that McGillicuddy has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. McGillicuddy tries to score with some ground and pound. Johnson controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Johnson is not content to let McGillicuddy control the position. McGillicuddy looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Johnson is avoiding damage well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Johnson sneaks back into half guard. McGillicuddy throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. McGillicuddy missing with the ground and pound from half guard. McGillicuddy not landing any meaningful shots this time. Johnson blocking the ground and pound attempt from McGillicuddy. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. McGillicuddy wants to lay and pray for a moment but Johnson keeps working. McGillicuddy scoring with strikes to the body and head. Johnson keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Johnson avoiding damage under a succession of punches from McGillicuddy.
That's four minutes gone in the round. McGillicuddy not landing any meaningful shots this time. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
McGillicuddy seems to be trying to get a kimura but instead Johnson has recovered full guard. McGillicuddy throws an elbow that misses. Johnson uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in McGillicuddy's guard. Nice move by Johnson! McGillicuddy throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. McGillicuddy looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. McGillicuddy is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Shamus McGillicuddy will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

and Johnson counters with a lovely straight right hand!
McGillicuddy is rocked! McGillicuddy swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Oh McGillicuddy is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! McGillicuddy takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Johnson pounces like a tiger and cracks McGillicuddy with a vicious hook! McGillicuddy is down but not out! Johnson follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:35 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Mighty Johnson! After winning the bout, Mighty Johnson thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility. Shamus McGillicuddy spoke after the fight, saying 'I'll be back next time with da luck o' da Irish!'.
