Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tony Bale! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Konstantin Saraste! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Alan Glass and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bale lands a glancing blow to the side of Saraste's head.
It looks like Konstantin Saraste has been cut. Bale misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Saraste.
Bale misses with a looping left. Saraste gets the takedown into side control. Bale tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Saraste misses with a punch to the head. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Saraste biding his time, controlling Bale. Saraste has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Bale has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Saraste scores with a nice shot to the head of his opponent. Bale is looking for a way out.
That's one minute gone in the round. The referee is taking a good look at Bale as he is on the wrong end of some big shots from Saraste!
It looks like Tony Bale has been cut. Saraste misses with a punch to the head. Saraste has the hooks in. Bale is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. Well, with Saraste on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Bale is tapping out... Can he escape the position? Saraste misses with an elbow to the head. Saraste lands an elbow to the side of the head. Saraste scores with a nice shot to the head of his opponent. Bale is looking for a way out.
Tony Bale's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it. Saraste throwing sloppy strikes. Saraste tries to keep control of the position but Bale is staying busy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Saraste missing with strikes. Good control from Saraste. Saraste has Bale flattened out and is raining down punches.
Jeez, Tony Bale's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Tony Bale's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
