PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Vince Tillman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gabengala Orsini (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Vince Tillman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Gabengala Orsini!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Luis Engracia and Alexandre Firmino.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Tillman on the wrong end of a nice jab.

Orsini shoots in and gets a takedown into Tillman's guard.
Tillman really is a fat lump.
Orsini scoring with some ground and pound.
Orsini is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Orsini's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Orsini has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Tillman is looking to stand up but Orsini isn't so interested in that idea.
Orsini seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

It looks like Orsini might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Tillman tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Orsini counters with a nice body shot.
No luck for Tillman with that takedown attempt.
Orsini scores with the left hand. Tillman knows he should have avoided that one.
Orsini scores with a jab to the body.
Tillman wants to clinch.

Orsini lands a jab to Tillman's midsection.
Orsini is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Orsini sizes up Tillman with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Tillman looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Orsini is fending him off so far but Tillman persists. Nope, Orsini circles away and we're back to standing.
A nice side step and Orsini releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Orsini fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Tillman on the side of the head.

Tillman tries to sprawl but Orsini drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Orsini looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Tillman is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Orsini scores with a couple of nice shots.
Tillman might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Tillman is trying to stand.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gabengala Orsini dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



The fight moves into the clinch position.
Tillman is trying to pull guard but Orsini turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vince Tillman. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Orsini tightens his grip and picks Tillman up, before dumping him to the ground. Tillman manages to land in guard.
Tillman can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Orsini controls the pace.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Orsini lands a couple of elbows.
Orsini is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Let's hope that Orsini has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Orsini forces his way into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Orsini is continuing to stall.
We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Orsini.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
More stalling from Orsini.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Tillman is looking to escape.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Orsini in particular looking to stall.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Tillman misses with a takedown attempt
and Orsini counters with a stiff right hand.
Orsini jabs at Tillman's body.
Orsini has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

Orsini throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Tillman tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Orsini is in Tillman's guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Orsini not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Orsini passes into half guard under a barage of strikes.
Well, if Orsini is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Yet more stalling tactics from Orsini.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gabengala Orsini showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Tillman shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Tillman on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Orsini has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

A countering left hand to the body from Orsini misses.

Orsini drives through with a takedown into guard.

Tillman manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Tillman has Orsini pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Orsini manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Tillman is trying to pull guard but Orsini turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Orsini changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Tillman looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Orsini is chipping away with strikes.
Orsini cracks Tillman with a big elbow.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Gabengala Orsini is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
The adventures of Orsini the control monster continue. Boring.
Orsini is putting a hurting on Tillman here, landing some big shots from side control.
Tillman is looking for a sweep.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Orsini with more of the same as he continues to hold on.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Gabengala Orsini comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Orsini winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
