Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mamoru Date (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Abbot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Mamoru Date! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Frank Abbot! The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Shirou Masuda and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Abbot looks to score with a jab to the body but Date is just out of range. Date lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Abbot uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Date. Abbot tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Date manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Date is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Abbot. Date throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Abbot sees it coming and avoids it easily. Abbot is looking to clinch. A decent looking cross lands there for Date. Date walks into a straight right hand from Abbot. Abbot has his takedown stuffed enabling Date to counter with a crisp jab. Abbot changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Date letting Abbot take a breather here. Date avoiding damage as Abbot throws knees to the body.

Date has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Abbot finds it's way round the side to connect with Date's head. Date throws a looping overhand right but Abbot ducks down to avoid it. Date on the wrong end of a nice hook. Date is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Abbot throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Date sees it coming and avoids it easily. Abbot throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Date. A cross from Abbot lands. Date tries to clinch up. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Abbot shoots in and gets a takedown into Date's guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Date lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Date looking to sit in guard and control but Abbot gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
That's one minute gone in the round. Abbot looking to pass the guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Date keeping moving, preventing Abbot from controlling successfully. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Abbot throwing strikes but missing. Abbot slips nicely into half guard. Abbot is looking for a kimura here.
Abbot is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Date is just riding it out for now. Abbot eventually gives up the hold.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Abbot is keen to just control but Date is a slippery customer. Abbot looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Abbot throwing shots but Date is blocking nicely. Abbot thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Date's head.

Abbot has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Abbot looking to control but Date is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Abbot throwing shots from mount but they're not landing. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Frank Abbot showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!
