Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Antero Jose Carneiro! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Bjorn Heinrich! The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Saam Ante and Daniel Blasius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Heinrich throws a head kick that misses so Carneiro counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Carneiro prevents Heinrich from getting back to his feet. Carneiro looking to pass the guard. Heinrich really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Carneiro. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Carneiro passes Heinrich's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Carneiro is looking to stall here but Heinrich recovers full guard. Heinrich wants to stand and escape but Carneiro is having none of it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Carneiro drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Carneiro jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Carneiro throwing strikes but missing. Heinrich keeping moving, preventing Carneiro from controlling successfully.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Bjorn Heinrich is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Heinrich moves into the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Heinrich misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Carneiro.
Carneiro tightens his grip and picks Heinrich up, before dumping him to the ground. Heinrich manages to land in guard. Heinrich has his feet on Carneiro's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Heinrich throws a head kick that misses. Carneiro half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Heinrich closes the distance and clinches. Carneiro gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Heinrich regains guard.
Carneiro tries to free his leg and advance position but Heinrich is retaining full guard. Heinrich wants to get back to his feet but Carneiro is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Carneiro trying to control but Heinrich is working from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Carneiro trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Heinrich keeping full guard, as Carneiro tries to pass. Carneiro prevents Heinrich from getting back to his feet.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Heinrich does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Carneiro tries to counter with a takedown but Heinrich is quick to defend against it. Carneiro avoids the body shot from Heinrich.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Heinrich misses with an uppercut. Carneiro saw that one coming. Carneiro attempts a counter takedown but Heinrich avoids it well and moves away. Heinrich pushes Carneiro up against the cage in a clinch. Carneiro gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Heinrich is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Carneiro is controlling him. Carneiro pushes down on Heinrich's leg and manages to get into half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Carneiro wants to take a breather but Heinrich is having none of it. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Carneiro looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Antero Jose Carneiro will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Heinrich rushes Carneiro and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A frustrated look appears on Heinrich's face as he tries to break the clinch. Heinrich ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Heinrich no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Heinrich is looking to stand up but Carneiro isn't so interested in that idea.
That's one minute gone in the round. Carneiro throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Heinrich works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Carneiro wants to control from the top but Heinrich keeps moving. Heinrich working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Carneiro. Carneiro trying to control but Heinrich is working from the bottom. Carneiro drops back, looking for a kneebar! Heinrich looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Heinrich looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Heinrich!
Heinrich stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Carneiro half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Heinrich looks to land a combination but Carneiro avoids it well. Heinrich gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Heinrich wants to break free but Carneiro has control.
Carneiro has picked Heinrich up - he's going for a ride! Carneiro dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Carneiro missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Carneiro wants to control but Heinrich is keeping him busy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Carneiro missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Carneiro is keen to just control but Heinrich is a slippery customer. Carneiro is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Heinrich has managed to free his arm - good work. Carneiro is working for a submission of some sort.
Carneiro is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Heinrich pushes Carneiro off looking to stand but Carneiro dives back in and keeps control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Carneiro gets tackled into the cage by Heinrich. Heinrich maintains the clinch. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Heinrich decides to pull guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bjorn Heinrich showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

As Heinrich tries to get set, Carneiro tries to push him back and clinch up but Heinrich manages to avoid the attempt. Heinrich looks for the body kick but Carneiro saw that one coming. Heinrich gets a clinch. Carneiro prevents Heinrich from breaking the clinch. Heinrich jumps guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Carneiro working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Carneiro trying to control the action but Heinrich is working from the bottom.

Carneiro wants to lay and pray for a moment but Heinrich keeps working. Carneiro tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Carneiro throwing shots but missing, from side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Heinrich wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Heinrich takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Heinrich tries to escape back to his feet but Carneiro has kept hold of him... Oh, now he's got Heinrich's back and is looking for the choke... Is it? Is it sunk in? YES! Heinrich is tapping! Carneiro saw the opportunity and took it - ruthless!
