Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Randy Grant! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jons Ravuare! The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Summer Carpenter and Ben Hemmingworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ravuare lands with a cross.
It looks like Randy Grant has been cut. Ravuare fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Grant tries to counter by clinching up but Ravuare breaks away and moves out of range. Ravuare clinches. Ravuare breaks the clinch.
Grant goes for a double leg but Ravuare avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Ravuare continues to drive forward. Grant shoots in looking for a takedown. Ravuare tries to sprawl out of it but Grant keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ravuare manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nice straight punches there by Ravuare. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Ravuare. Ravuare gets in close and instigates a clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ravuare blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Grant is pushing Ravuare up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Grant pulls guard successfully.
Ravuare works a leg free and moves into half guard. Ravuare thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Ravuare is thwarting Grant's attempts to control the position. Ravuare is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Grant! Grant is just holding on here. Ravuare manages to take his back.
Ravuare is looking for a rear naked choke here but Grant reverses the position brilliantly into Ravuare's guard!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Grant scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Ravuare pulls Grant in close to prevent any damage. Grant has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Grant trying to control the position from guard on top but Ravuare is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Ravuare tries to land a sweep but no joy. Grant throwing strikes but missing. Grant wants to control from the top but Ravuare keeps moving. Grant stays in close to Ravuare's body and controls the position. Grant might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Grant in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Grant looking to sit in guard and control but Ravuare gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Ravuare looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Ravuare pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Grant is keeping the position for now. Grant is looking for a triangle but Ravuare pushes his legs off easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Grant working for a triangle but Ravuare defends it easily.
Ravuare not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Ravuare throws a strike but Grant rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Grant is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Ravuare is adopting a defensive guard. Grant postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jons Ravuare dominated that round. The cut man is working on Randy Grant's cut. That's time! Grant's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Ravuare fails with the takedown. Ravuare throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Grant tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Ravuare is in Grant's guard. Ravuare is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Grant has his foot on Ravuare's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Ravuare works his way back into a safe position though. Ravuare postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Ravuare is looking to work some ground and pound but Grant has wrist control. Grant looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Ravuare passes into side control.

That's one minute gone in the round. Grant is trying to work for a sweep but Ravuare has mounted him! Grant tries to hold on but Ravuare postures up. Grant is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control. Ravuare trying to control but Grant is having none of it. Ravuare sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Grant wants to hold on but Ravuare pushes him away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ravuare controlling from mount. Grant tries to hold on but Ravuare pushes him away. Grant is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Grant wants to control but Ravuare is having none of it. Ravuare content just to control the position here. Ravuare has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Grant blocking the ground and pound. Grant is trying to escape the mount.
Ravuare takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Grant regains half guard. Ravuare not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Ravuare content to control rather than advance. Jons Ravuare has got the better of the ground game so far. Grant looking for subs from the bottom but Ravuare mounts him! Ravuare throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ravuare avoids the attempt from Grant to control. Ravuare tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Grant regains half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jons Ravuare showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Randy Grant's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Randy Grant has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jons Ravuare. Grant tries to keep at a distance but Ravuare has taken the fight into the clinch. Grant is looking to break free of the clinch but Ravuare has double underhooks. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A nice right hand lands inside from Ravuare. Ravuare tries for a takedown but Grant manages to get underhooks.

Grant drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Ravuare has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Grant has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage. Ravuare is trying to drag Grant to the mat but Grant just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Ravuare takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Grant escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Ravuare gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Grant counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Grant drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Ravuare gets the underhooks and prevents it.
A frustrated look appears on Ravuare's face as he tries to break the clinch. Grant escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Jons Ravuare seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ravuare tries for a takedown but Grant sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Ravuare walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Grant scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Ravuare shoots in looking for a takedown but Grant manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Ravuare's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Grant scores with a takedown into Ravuare's guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Grant content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Grant wants to control from the top but Ravuare keeps moving. Grant content to stall in guard here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ravuare looking to hit a scissor sweep but Grant is one step ahead there. Grant is looking to work some ground and pound but Ravuare has wrist control. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Grant trying to control the position from guard on top but Ravuare is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Grant working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Ravuare tried to score with a low kick but Grant checks it. Grant swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Grant defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Ravuare. Jons Ravuare is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Ravuare fails in his attempt to clinch. Randy Grant has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Jons Ravuare is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Grant fails with a takedown attempt.
