Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Wesley Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stanley Pearson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stanley Pearson will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Wesley Jones! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Stanley Pearson! The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, Donatello Bradman and Ben Hemmingworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pearson lands a two punch combo.
Jones doesn't succeed with the takedown and Pearson connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Jones fails with the takedown. Pearson darts in and clinches Jones up against the cage. Jones is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Pearson gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Wesley Jones. Jones shoots in and bounces Pearson off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Jones drops back, looking for a kneebar! Pearson looks panicked! The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Pearson defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Jones. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pearson tries to bum rush Jones with a series of wild strikes but Jones uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Jones fails with the takedown. Pearson counters with a body kick. Pearson gets in close and instigates a clinch. A bit of stalling here from Pearson.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pearson lands a nice elbow from the clinch. Pearson creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Jones's defenses.
That's one minute gone in the round. A short right hand to the side of the head by Pearson. Jones tries to score a body lock takedown but Pearson shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Jones wants a takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Wesley Jones. That's going to take a lot out of him. Pearson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Jones drops his hands for a split second and Pearson immediately capitalizes on the opportunity by smashing a powerful hook into Jones face, sending his mouthguard sailing through the air, much to the delight of the crowd. Pearson follows up with a right hand that knocks Jones into next week. He's out cold and this fight is over!
