Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sal Bernito (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Delay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sal Bernito! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Paul Delay! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Delay misses with a hook to the body
and Bernito makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Delay shoots in looking for a takedown. Bernito tries to sprawl out of it but Delay keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bernito manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. As Delay tries to get set, Bernito tries to push him back and clinch up but Delay manages to avoid the attempt. Bernito gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Bernito tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Bernito looking for a takedown. Bernito is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bernito tries for a takedown but Delay manages to get underhooks.

Bernito goes for a double leg but Delay avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Delay continues to drive forward. Delay tries to score a power double leg takedown but Bernito sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Delay somewhat.
That's one minute gone in the round. Delay shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Bernito clinches. Delay tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Delay drops down looking for an ankle pick but Bernito pulls his leg out and moves away.
Bernito shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Bernito not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Bernito is nestled in close to Delay, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Bernito throwing shots but Delay is blocking nicely. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Bernito working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Bernito is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Bernito really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Delay trying to control the position.

He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Bernito throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Bernito not landing any meaningful shots this time. Delay tries to roll over but Bernito keeps him under control. Bernito missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Bernito sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Delay defending well though. Bernito looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Bernito lands a nice short elbow. Bernito seems to be looking for submissions.

Bernito shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Delay but Delay pushes him off and we're back to square one. Delay gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Delay scores with a shoulder strike. Bernito pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Bernito throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Bernito clinches up with Delay and pushes him back against the cage. Bernito tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Delay smiles and moves away.

He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Bernito has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Bernito gets to his feet - Delay follows without any prompting. Delay tries a low kick but Bernito avoids it. Bernito eats them both and turns towards Delay to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Delay stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Delay wants it to stay on the feet.

Delay really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bernito. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Delay working a defensive guard here.

Sal Bernito overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Bernito's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Bernito wants to clinch. Bernito fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Sal Bernito is winning the standup battle so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Bernito dodges the punch combination from Delay.
Bernito takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Delay pushes Bernito up against the cage in a clinch. Delay misses with a body punch.

Delay got a little sloppy there for a moment and Bernito has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Delay has managed to get both his arms back between Bernito's legs - danger averted. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Delay wants to stand and escape but instead Bernito has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Sal Bernito. I think Bernito has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
