Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Luke The Maniac (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lynn Kernes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kernes has chosen Apocalyptica - Nothing Else Matters as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Luke The Maniac! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lynn Kernes! The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Reed Andrews and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The Maniac plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Kernes tries to land a front kick but The Maniac steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Luke The Maniac seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kernes takes a kick to the side of the head. Kernes is looking to take this fight into the clinch. The Maniac goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
It looks like Lynn Kernes has been cut. The Maniac lands a head kick. Kernes smiles back at him and beckons him forward. Kernes shoots in looking for a takedown. The Maniac tries to sprawl out of it but Kernes keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. The Maniac manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Nice takedown defense from The Maniac. No joy for Kernes on that attempt. The Maniac scores with a head kick.
Kernes fails in his attempt to clinch. The Maniac throws a head kick that half lands.
This has been an exciting period of action! The Maniac displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Kernes throws out the jab. The Maniac decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. The Maniac lands a nice short elbow. The Maniac knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kernes on the ground. The Maniac not landing any meaningful shots this time. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The Maniac is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kernes keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Kernes wants to get back to his feet. The Maniac thows a huge punch but Kernes dodges it nicely.
Kernes is trying to control but can't.
The Maniac working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. The Maniac connects with a nice short shot to Kernes's temple. The Maniac really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. The Maniac rushes Kernes and presses him up against the cage. Kernes jumps guard but The Maniac stands there with Kernes around his waist. Kernes gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Luke The Maniac has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lynn Kernes. The Maniac manages to break the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Kernes fails with the takedown. The Maniac scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
The Maniac throws a body kick that digs right into the meat. Kernes looks gassed! The Maniac darts in and clinches Kernes up against the cage. Kernes trying to stall but The Maniac improves his position.
The Maniac breaks from the clinch.
The fight moves into the clinch position. The Maniac lands an elbow inside. Kernes is looking to break free of the clinch but The Maniac has double underhooks. The Maniac pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. The Maniac feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Kernes's calf. The Maniac shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kernes but Kernes pushes him off and we're back to square one. The Maniac circles away from the clinch attempt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The Maniac shoots in but Kernes avoids the takedown attempt easily. The Maniac lands a nice leg kick that just misses Kernes's sensitive parts. The Maniac tries to clinch there but Kernes circles away.
Kernes tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Kernes throws a right and a left that both miss. The Maniac throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
The Maniac lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. The fight moves into the clinch position. The Maniac misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Kernes.
The Maniac stops a takedown attempt from Kernes.
The Maniac has picked Kernes up - he's going for a ride! The Maniac dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. The fighters are battling for position here. Kernes manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Kernes manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
The Maniac has given up his back, trying to stand up. Not clever.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kernes connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for The Maniac to escape the position.
Well, with Kernes on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before The Maniac is tapping out... Can he escape the position? Kernes is hanging on to The Maniac's back as he tries to escape.
The Maniac is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Kernes.
The Maniac covers up after taking a massive shot to the side of the head.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Kernes controlling from the back. The Maniac holding both Kernes 's hands and preventing any damage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Luke The Maniac dominated that round. The cut man is working on Lynn Kernes's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
A combination from Kernes does no damage. Kernes misses with a kick to the body.
Kernes shoots in for a takedown but The Maniac shows good takedown defense. The Maniac moves into the clinch. The Maniac fails to pull guard.
The Maniac manages to break the clinch.
Kernes fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
The Maniac throws a nice head kick!
Kernes throws a head kick that misses and The Maniac holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. The Maniac breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Luke The Maniac is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Kernes shoots in and drives through. The Maniac sprawls well. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from The Maniac. The Maniac misses with a double jab.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. The Maniac tries to clinch but fails miserably and Kernes counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. The Maniac is striking from the bottom but he's now found himself mounted! Oh dear - not enough focus on defense there.
The Maniac is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
The Maniac looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back! Kernes biding his time, looking for the opening.
The Maniac staying busy and making it hard for Kernes to control. The Maniac is trying to shake Kernes off. He's managed it and has hopped back to his feet! Kernes won't be happy about giving up the dominant position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The Maniac shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kernes pinned against the cage. Kernes gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Luke The Maniac. That's going to take a lot out of him. The Maniac takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Kernes fails with a takedown attempt. The Maniac tries to land a leg kick but Kernes saw it coming and moves away.
Kernes shoots in looking for a takedown. The Maniac tries to sprawl out of it but Kernes keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. The Maniac manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. The Maniac tries for a takedown but Kernes circles away easily and Kernes decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in The Maniac's guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! The Maniac looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Kernes has picked The Maniac up and slammed him! The Maniac can't keep hold of the triangle and Kernes manages to pass to side control! Kernes taking a break here but The Maniac is having none of it and regains half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The Maniac is refusing to be controlled, as Kernes sits in half guard. Kernes blocks the strikes from The Maniac.
The Maniac strikes from the bottom but Kernes passes into mount!
The Maniac is trying to stand but he's just given Kernes his back. The Maniac is trying to break free.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The referee is taking a good look at The Maniac as he is on the wrong end of some big shots from Kernes!
Kernes is landing with strikes from the back. Kernes lands an elbow to the side of the head. Kernes is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. The Maniac has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Kernes has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! The Maniac taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Kernes doesn't care though - he's delighted!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:49 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Lynn Kernes!
