Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tom Mitchell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lenny Gordon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mitchell comes into the arena with Baha Men - Island Boy blaring out of the sound system. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Tom Mitchell! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Lenny Gordon! The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Santiago Holmes and Sandra Marshall.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The crowd cheers as Mitchell lands an impressive looking overhand right. Gordon doesn't seem phased though. Mitchell with a hook. Gordon throws a leg kick but Mitchell checks it. Mitchell fails with the takedown and Mitchell takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Mitchell lands with a cross. Gordon swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Gordon throws a head kick that misses. Mitchell tries to score a power double leg takedown but Gordon sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Mitchell somewhat. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mitchell tries for a takedown but Gordon sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tom Mitchell. That's going to take a lot out of him. Gordon lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
It looks like Tom Mitchell has been cut.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mitchell fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Gordon to the ground. Mitchell is now in Gordon's guard. Gordon working a defensive guard here.
Mitchell trying to control but Gordon is working from the bottom. Gordon is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Our spies down at at Harambe Remembrance Hall inform us that Gordon has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off? Mitchell pushes down on Gordon's leg and manages to get into half guard. Mitchell is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Gordon is just riding it out for now. Mitchell eventually gives up the hold.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mitchell is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Gordon is defending against the submission attempts here by Mitchell.
Mitchell uses his free foot to push down on Gordon's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Gordon.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mitchell trying to control but Gordon is having none of it. Gordon tries to improve his position but Mitchell has taken his back! Mitchell has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Gordon tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Mitchell pushes Gordon away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Tom Mitchell! An out of breath Tom Mitchell thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
