Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chief Shadow Hunter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shadow Hunter kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Cherokee War Dance. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chief Shadow Hunter! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jake Smith! The judges for this bout are James Atkins, James Glass and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smith instigates a clinch. Shadow Hunter is looking for a takedown. Smith slows down the pace here.
Smith prevents the takedown attempt.
Shadow Hunter has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Smith is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chief Shadow Hunter. That's going to take a lot out of him. Shadow Hunter drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Smith gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Smith seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shadow Hunter avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Smith engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. It looks like Smith might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Smith misses with a left hand and Shadow Hunter counters with a nice double leg into guard. Shadow Hunter lands a couple of elbows. Shadow Hunter throws a strike but Smith rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Shadow Hunter being controlled here, momentarily. Let's hope that Smith has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Smith's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Smith tries to free his leg and advance position but Shadow Hunter is retaining full guard. Smith controlling from the top position. Smith cracks Shadow Hunter with a solid left hand.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Smith is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Shadow Hunter controlling the position. Shadow Hunter keeping full guard, as Smith tries to pass. Smith forces his way into half guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Smith content to control rather than advance. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jake Smith dominated that round. That's time! Shadow Hunter's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Shadow Hunter uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Smith. Shadow Hunter tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Smith manages to circle out of the way. Smith tests Shadow Hunter's chin there with a solid looking shot. Shadow Hunter shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Smith defends it nicely. Shadow Hunter fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Smith throws out a counter right but Shadow Hunter avoids it with no problem. Smith throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Smith has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Shadow Hunter is landing a low percentage of strikes. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Shadow Hunter throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Smith's waist but Smith gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Shadow Hunter off to one side. Shadow Hunter looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chief Shadow Hunter. That's going to take a lot out of him. Shadow Hunter keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Chief Shadow Hunter is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Smith is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Shadow Hunter. Smith tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Shadow Hunter defends well and Smith ends up having to push Shadow Hunter into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Smith misses with a left hand and Shadow Hunter counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Shadow Hunter. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Shadow Hunter throwing strikes but missing. Smith working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Shadow Hunter. Smith has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Smith pulls Shadow Hunter in close to prevent any damage. Jake Smith has got the better of the ground game so far. Shadow Hunter in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Smith manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Shadow Hunter manages to get himself to full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Shadow Hunter on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Shadow Hunter tries to get out of the position. Smith is continuing to stall. More stalling from Smith.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Shadow Hunter displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Smith throws out the jab. Shadow Hunter wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Smith waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Shadow Hunter. Smith just misses with a punch to the body.
Shadow Hunter takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Smith shoots in but no luck this time. Smith throws out a loose jab but Shadow Hunter uses good head movement to avoid it. Shadow Hunter avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Shadow Hunter closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Shadow Hunter lands in his opponent's guard. Smith manages to escape and get back to his feet.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Smith uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Shadow Hunter has time to react. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jake Smith showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
Shadow Hunter gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Smith is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Smith takes a swing at Shadow Hunter's ribcage but misses. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Shadow Hunter is defended easily by Smith.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Smith misses with the combination.
Smith stuffs the takedown attempt from Shadow Hunter. Shadow Hunter gets slowly back to his feet. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Smith! But no joy. Smith clinches. Shadow Hunter has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Smith avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chief Shadow Hunter. That's going to take a lot out of him. Smith gets underhooks to prevent Shadow Hunter's takedown attempt.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Smith gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Shadow Hunter regains guard.
Shadow Hunter wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Smith manages to pass to side control. Smith is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Smith sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Shadow Hunter defending well though. Smith not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Smith seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Chief Shadow Hunter has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Shadow Hunter tries to get to full guard but Smith has control of the leg. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Smith controlling the pace. Smith is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Shadow Hunter! Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Smith tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
And that's the end of the fight! Jake Smith comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Smith has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
