Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Stella Artois! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 19 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Gizmo Williams! The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Peter Branson and David Hoff.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Artois shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Williams as he avoids it easily. Williams moves into the clinch. Artois wants to take the fight to the mat but Williams manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Artois is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Williams is defending well. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Stella Artois. That's going to take a lot out of him. Artois working aggressively here.

Artois is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Williams is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Artois tries to buck Williams off but Williams is having none of it. Artois manages to get back to half guard. Artois gets back to full guard.
Artois is pulling down on Williams's head. It's preventing any offense from Williams, at least for the moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Artois has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Artois tries to land a sweep but no joy. Artois pulls Williams in to control the position. Williams controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Artois shoots in for a double leg but Williams sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Artois shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Williams defends it nicely. Williams feints the counter takedown. No luck with that takedown attempt from Artois. Williams unleashes a big counter combination but Artois bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. Artois is breathing heavily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Artois misses with a takedown attempt - Williams sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Artois with a lazy takedown attempt and Williams counters by moving into the clinch. Artois is trying to drag Williams to the mat but Williams just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Artois is looking to take this one to the mat. Williams breaks the clinch.

Williams fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Artois is out of range. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Artois checks the leg kick. Artois avoids the body shot from Williams.
Artois is trying hard to land a takedown here. Williams sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Williams ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Artois moves away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Artois gets caught flat footed, as Williams shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Williams is fighting to break Artois's control of his arms but Artois is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Artois is on top in guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Williams can do anything to dispel that myth. We've been informed that Williams has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. You can see the frustration on Williams's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Artois throws a strike aimed at the side of Williams's head but Williams avoids it well.

Williams is not content to let Artois control the position. Williams is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Artois is one step ahead and moves to full mount! Stella Artois overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Williams is squirming around, avoiding Artois's attempts to control the action. Artois is looking to take a break and control but Williams is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Williams wants to get back to his feet. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! Williams gets slowly back to his feet. Williams stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Williams wants it to stay on the feet. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Artois is defended easily by Williams. Artois shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Williams sprawls well. Williams wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Artois gets slowly back to his feet. Williams shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Williams was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Artois is trying to escape the position but Williams is controlling the position.

Artois drops an elbow to the side of Williams's head. Williams really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Artois. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Williams tries to kick Artois off but Artois keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. It looks like Artois is going to stand back up.
Williams wants to get back to his feet.
Artois looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Artois has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Williams defend it? Artois steps over the head and cranks it - Williams is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Artois!
