Konrad Husky struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 147.0lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tom Donowitz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Konrad Husky!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Alan Glass and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Husky connects with a jab.
Konrad Husky seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A slapping leg kick lands for Husky.
Husky swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Donowitz is looking to slow Husky down with leg kicks.
Donowitz shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Husky but Husky pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Donowitz on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Husky. Husky obviously looking to wear him down.
Donowitz lands a slapping body shot.
Donowitz takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Donowitz lands with a kick to the temple. Husky shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

A looping hook to the body misses from Husky. Donowitz does a little dance to reset his feet.
It looked like Donowitz was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Husky.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Husky motions for Donowitz to come forward. Husky throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Husky lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Donowitz circles away quickly and effectively.
A looping hook to the body misses from Husky. Donowitz does a little dance to reset his feet.

Husky leaves Donowitz with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Despite the aggression on Husky's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Husky lands a nice looking kick to the body. Donowitz takes a step back to recover.

Donowitz wants to break the clinch but can't.
Donowitz tries to score a body lock takedown but Husky shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tom Donowitz. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Donowitz drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Husky gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Husky has his foot on Donowitz's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Donowitz works his way back into a safe position though.
Donowitz has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Husky working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Donowitz doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Donowitz manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Donowitz reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Donowitz taps out! Nice BJJ there by Husky!
