Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ron Borsen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Kai Pizirdeven! The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Michael Johnstone and Dirk Anderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pizirdeven fails to land the takedown. Borsen closes the distance and clinches. Borsen being controlled against the cage. Pizirdeven is trying to pull guard but Borsen turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Borsen pulls guard. Pizirdeven stopping the sweep attempt from Borsen. Pizirdeven is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Borsen trying to keep a closed guard but Pizirdeven is proving a slippery customer.

Pizirdeven chips away with some ground and pound. Pizirdeven won't allow Borsen to sweep him here. Borsen keeping moving, preventing Pizirdeven from controlling successfully. Borsen manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Pizirdeven manages to get himself to full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Borsen wants to control from the top but Pizirdeven keeps moving. Borsen trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Pizirdeven is pulling down on Borsen's head to control his posture. Pizirdeven not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Pizirdeven changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Borsen tries to avoid it but Pizirdeven manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Borsen to the ground. Borsen escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Ron Borsen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kai Pizirdeven.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Borsen scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Borsen trying to control the action but Pizirdeven is working from the bottom. We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Pizirdeven has eaten all the pies! Pizirdeven wants to get back to his feet but Borsen drags him back down. Borsen working away. Borsen wants to lay and pray for a moment but Pizirdeven keeps working. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Borsen stands up and beckons Pizirdeven to his feet. Borsen thows a left - swing and a miss! A head kick misses from Pizirdeven. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Pizirdeven.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Borsen throws a half hearted mid kick. Borsen shoots in and bounces Pizirdeven off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Pizirdeven has his feet on Borsen's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! A momentary lapse in concentration from Pizirdeven enables Borsen to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Pizirdeven manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Pizirdeven scrambles and gets back to his feet.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Pizirdeven dives in and grabs Borsen's left leg, looking for a takedown. Borsen pushes down on Pizirdeven's head and hops out. Pizirdeven looks winded! Pizirdeven changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Borsen looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Borsen explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Ron Borsen will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Pizirdeven slips a jab and a cross from Borsen.
Borsen wants to clinch. Pizirdeven throws a head kick that misses. Pizirdeven throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Borsen was covering up waiting for the punch and Pizirdeven finishes the takedown easily into guard. Borsen pulls Pizirdeven in close to his closed guard and prevents Pizirdeven from doing any damage or advancing position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Borsen wants to sweep here but Pizirdeven controlling him for the moment. Borsen looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Pizirdeven has picked Borsen up and slammed him! Borsen can't keep hold of the triangle and Pizirdeven manages to pass to side control!
That's one minute gone in the round. Borsen wants to control but Pizirdeven postures up. Pizirdeven is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Borsen has escaped the position, nice work there. Pizirdeven is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Borsen is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Borsen is looking for a sweep.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Pizirdeven trying to control the position but Borsen is working away. Pizirdeven tries to advance to mount but can't. Borsen looks to move to half guard but instead Pizirdeven has passed into mount! Damn! Pizirdeven lands with some strikes. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Borsen is trying to stand. Pizirdeven looking to finish Borsen with some ground and pound. This is bad for Borsen! Borsen really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Borsen tries to control Pizirdeven's body but Pizirdeven pushes him off. Borsen squirms to his side and now Pizirdeven has his back! Borsen trying to control the hands but Pizirdeven breaks the grip. Pizirdeven is looking to control Borsen but Borsen is wriggling around and keeping busy. Pizirdeven scores with punches and elbows.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pizirdeven tries to keep control of the position but Borsen is staying busy. So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
Pizirdeven is continuing to stall. Pizirdeven throwing wild punches that miss their target. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Pizirdeven trying to control momentarily.
Borsen is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Pizirdeven.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kai Pizirdeven showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Borsen throws a solid leg kick but Pizirdeven takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Borsen. Pizirdeven fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Borsen drives through with a takedown into Pizirdeven's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Borsen distracts Pizirdeven with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Pizirdeven keeping moving, preventing Borsen from controlling successfully. Kai Pizirdeven has got the better of the ground game so far. Pizirdeven is trying to keep Borsen in close.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Borsen decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Pizirdeven, up you get! Nice jab there from Borsen. Ron Borsen is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Borsen misses with the combination.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pizirdeven looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Borsen is fending him off so far but Pizirdeven persists. Nope, Borsen circles away and we're back to standing. Borsen forces Pizirdeven back against the cage and clinches. Borsen effectively controlling the action here. Borsen turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Pizirdeven throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done! Pizirdeven drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Both fighters are breathing heavily. This has been an exciting period of action! Borsen gets back to half guard. Pizirdeven stalling.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pizirdeven wants to control but Borsen is keeping him busy. Pizirdeven content to control rather than advance. Pizirdeven thows a huge punch but Borsen dodges it nicely.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Pizirdeven thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Borsen's head. Pizirdeven not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Borsen fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Pizirdeven to the ground. Borsen is now in Pizirdeven's guard. Pizirdeven has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Borsen has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage. Borsen avoiding damage as Pizirdeven throws knees to the body.
Pizirdeven can't break the clinch.
Borsen ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Borsen no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Borsen throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Borsen is on top in guard.

Borsen is in close to Pizirdeven's body, working some short punches and elbows. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Borsen wants to control from the top but Pizirdeven keeps moving. Borsen pushing down on Pizirdeven's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Borsen looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Pizirdeven with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Ron Borsen. I think Borsen has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
