The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGregor throws a predictable looking body shot
and Rivers counters with a stiff right hand.
Conor McGregor seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rivers takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

It looks like Tom Rivers has been cut.
McGregor throws a lazy right hand but Rivers sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Rivers looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Rivers swings for the body but McGregor moves out of range.
McGregor takes one to the side of the head.
Rivers has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
McGregor throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Rivers throws a good cross that connects.
McGregor swings for the body but Rivers moves out of range.

McGregor punishes Rivers's body with a nice straight punch.

Rivers scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

McGregor tries to keep at a distance but Rivers has taken the fight into the clinch.
