Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lee Meredith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ivan Emelianenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lee Meredith! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ivan Emelianenko! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Alan Glass and Stewart Dunkirk.
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Emelianenko fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Meredith stuffs the takedown attempt from Emelianenko. Emelianenko gets slowly back to his feet. Emelianenko shoots in but no luck this time. Lee Meredith has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ivan Emelianenko. Emelianenko shoots in for a double leg but Meredith sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Emelianenko shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Emelianenko throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Meredith's waist but Meredith gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Emelianenko off to one side. Meredith circles away from the clinch attempt.
Meredith stuffs the takedown attempt from Emelianenko. Emelianenko gets slowly back to his feet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Meredith shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Emelianenko as he jumps to the side. Emelianenko fails with the takedown and Meredith counters with a nice low kick that buckles Emelianenko's knee momentarily. Emelianenko looks gassed!
Meredith feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Emelianenko trying to keep a closed guard but Meredith is proving a slippery customer.
Meredith pushes down on Emelianenko's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Meredith is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Meredith wants to work for an arm triangle but Emelianenko is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Emelianenko is defending against the submission attempts here by Meredith.
Meredith in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Emelianenko tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Meredith!
