Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, John Coltrane!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Deano Paterson !
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Ron Honeybunn and Darius Henderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Coltrane drops his hands momentarily and Paterson takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.


It looks like John Coltrane has been cut.
Coltrane darts in looking for a takedown but Paterson gets double underhooks and turns Coltrane into the cage.
Paterson misses with a two punch combination.

Coltrane shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Paterson 's guard.
Paterson wants to stand and escape but Coltrane is having none of it.
Coltrane stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Paterson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Paterson is wriggling around but Coltrane manages to pass to half guard.

Coltrane has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Paterson defend it? Coltrane steps over the head and cranks it - Paterson is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Coltrane!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). John Coltrane!
John Coltrane decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
