The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Da Silva shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Bush defends it nicely. Bush closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Da Silva did well to prevent Bush getting side control. Da Silva manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Bush keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage. Bush working some nice short punches in the clinch. Bush gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Da Silva regains guard.

Bush landing some decent shots from guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
George Bush dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Da Silva scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Bush closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Bush lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. George Bush has got the better of the ground game so far. Bush creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots. Bush slows the pace down. Bush working the head with strikes. Da Silva takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Bush really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Da Silva. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Check out the look on Bush's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Da Silva taking a bit of punishment here - Bush scoring with strikes. Da Silva is looking for a sweep. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Bush cracks Da Silva with an elbow. That is naaassty. Bush lands a few punches from side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bush scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Da Silva is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Bush can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
