Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nick Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rene Simard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Diaz kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Sail. Rene Simard looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nick Diaz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rene Simard! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Chris Downing and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Diaz defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Simard. Simard looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Simard is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Diaz really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Diaz throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Simard's waist but Simard gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Diaz off to one side. Simard feints a counter leg kick. Simard keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Simard is defended easily by Diaz. Diaz clinches. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Diaz lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. A bit of stalling here from Diaz.
A short left from Diaz. Diaz with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
It looks like Rene Simard has been cut.
That's one minute gone in the round. Diaz scores with a shoulder strike.
Simard is rocked! Simard wants a takedown.
Simard is still on wobbly legs! Can Diaz finish him? Nick Diaz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rene Simard. Diaz lands a hook that snaps the head of Simard backwards. Diaz lands on the inside with an uppercut. Diaz lands a knee to the body.
Diaz lands on the inside with an uppercut. Diaz stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. Diaz lands an uppercut in the clinch that drops Simard to his knees! Diaz keeps firing more shots against his stricken opponent and the referee jumps in to save him!

As Nick Diaz got his breath back, he grabbed the microphone and managed to blurt out the following: This fight was fight of my life and the time that R Simard got on the ground, I knew it was over.
