Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Darren Burns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Darren (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Darren has chosen Here's to the losers as his entrance music. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Darren Burns!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, James Darren!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Burns looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Burns gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Darren just misses with a punch to the body.
Burns throws a leg kick that misses.
The crowd cheers as Burns lands an impressive looking overhand right. Darren doesn't seem phased though.
Darren uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Burns takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Burns misses with a looping left.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Darren! But no joy.
Darren digs a good body shot into Burns's ribs.
Darren lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Some bone on bone action there as Burns checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Burns throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Darren feints a counter leg kick.
Burns lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Darren scores with a jab to the jaw.
Burns walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Burns swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Darren counters with a stiff right hand.
Burns throws a nice looking combination but Darren bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Darren moves out of range as Burns strikes.
Darren looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Darren stuns Burns with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Burns lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Darren tests Burns's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Burns has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Shit House in the buildup to the fight.
Burns throws a lazy head kick
and Darren counters with a thumping low kick.
Darren lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Darren has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.
A cross from Darren lands.
Burns on the wrong end of a nice hook.


Burns is rocked!
Burns misses with the combination.
Darren Burns seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Burns throws a head kick but Darren moves out of range.
Darren jabs at Burns's body.
Burns walks into a left hand.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Darren takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Burns wants to slow Darren down by chopping away at his legs.
Darren swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Burns walks into a jab.
Burns keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Darren scores with a hook to the body. Burns takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

Darren fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Burns manages to avoid it.
Burns closes this distance looking for a takedown but Darren circles away.
Burns misses with a double jab.
Burns misses with a combination
and Darren counters with an outside leg kick.
Darren connects with an inside leg kick.
Darren throws a leg kick which misses Burns's front leg but catches the back leg as Burns tries to avoid it.
An inside leg kick lands from Darren.
Darren uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Burns has time to react.
Burns chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Darren can pounce on him.
Burns takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Burns takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Burns fails with the takedown
and Darren counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Darren jabs Burns to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Darren scores with a crisp jab that stopped Burns in his tracks.
Darren bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Burns's head backwards.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Darren ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Burns lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Darren circles away quickly and effectively.
A big right from Burns misses.
A countering left hand to the body from Darren misses.
Darren takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
James Darren is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Burns misses with an uppercut
and Darren counters with a right hand to the body.
Darren uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Burns has time to react.
Oh Burns is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
A cross from Darren lands.
Burns jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Burns takes one on the button.
Burns misses with a body punch
enabling Darren to counter with a crisp jab.
Darren connects with a solid leg kick.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Good standup being displayed there by Darren as he connects with a hook.
Burns will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Darren misses with a looping right.
Burns pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Darren back to the cage. Burns follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Burns seems to have got his legs back now.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Darren scores with the left hand. Burns knows he should have avoided that one.
Burns misses with an uppercut
and Darren counters with a right hand to the body.
Burns throws a poor cross that misses
and Darren counters with a straight right hand.
Darren digs a good body shot into Burns's ribs.
Burns looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
A head kick by Burns misses
and Darren cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Burns is breathing heavily.
Sloppy strikes from Burns. Those never looked like landing.
Burns is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Darren, as that shot connected.
Darren scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Darren throws a leg kick which misses Burns's front leg but catches the back leg as Burns tries to avoid it.
Darren lands with a good body shot.
A slow jab from Burns misses its intended target.
A countering left hand to the body from Darren misses.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Darren scores with a push kick.
Darren connects with a body shot.
Darren takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Darren doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Burns looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
Darren keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

James Darren dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Burns misses with a two punch combination.
Darren has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Darren there as he acknowledges the shot.
Burns stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Darren.
Darren cracks the inside of Burns's front leg.
Burns tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Darren takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Burns tries a head kick but it misses.
Darren feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Burns's calf.
Burns throws the kick towards the body but Darren avoids it.
Darren cracks the inside of Burns's front leg.
Burns lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Darren circles away quickly and effectively.
The fighters circle momentarily. Darren darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Burns is looking to score with low kicks.
Burns drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
James Darren seems to be getting the better of the standup.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Burns will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Darren only half commits to the counter leg kick.
This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether Burns might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far.
Burns takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Darren Burns is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Burns on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Darren will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Burns gets off balance looking for a body kick
and Darren connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Burns takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Darren dodges the punch combination from Burns.
A nice side step and Darren releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Darren.
Burns drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Burns misses the jab.
Burns with a jab.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Burns tries to bum rush Darren with a series of wild strikes but Darren uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Darren scores with a kick to the body.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
A decent looking cross lands there for Darren.
Darren slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Darren fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Burns to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Burns looks to clinch but Darren throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Burns taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:21 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). James Darren!
During a confident post fight interview, James Darren thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
