Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Lapu Lapu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Zappa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Frank Zappa is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Lapu Lapu! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Frank Zappa! The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, James Ackerman and William Gold.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Zappa shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Lapu defends it nicely. Lapu Lapu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Lapu decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Zappa manages to escape and get back to his feet! Zappa closes the distance and lands a one-two. Lapu bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Zappa throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done! This has been an exciting period of action! Lapu is looking to clinch but Zappa is avoiding it.
Zappa is looking for the big counter here. Danga de danga de dang - Zappa scores with a four punch combination! Zappa dives in and grabs Lapu's left leg, looking for a takedown. Lapu pushes down on Zappa's head and hops out. Lapu tries to counter with a takedown but Zappa is quick to defend against it. Lapu tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Zappa manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Zappa scores with a head kick.
Lapu closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Zappa did well to prevent Lapu getting side control. Zappa manages to escape and get back to his feet!
That's one minute gone in the round. Lapu shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Zappa pinned against the cage. Zappa gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Lapu shoots in but no luck this time. Zappa darts in and clinches Lapu up against the cage. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Zappa takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Zappa breaks the clinch.
Lapu feints and as Zappa raises his hands in defense, Lapu changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Zappa throws some shots to the body, keeping his opponent honest.
Lapu stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Zappa swivels though and keeps the full guard. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Zappa holds on and takes a little breather.

Lapu slips nicely into half guard. Lapu is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Zappa defends it well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Zappa is staying active underneath Lapu, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Zappa gets back to full guard.
Zappa seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Zappa is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Lapu dives into side control.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Zappa is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Zappa is looking for a sweep.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Lapu is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Zappa is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Lapu remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Zappa is pushing Lapu's head away, looking to escape. Lapu manages to hold on to the position though. You can see the frustration on Zappa's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Lapu throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Zappa was covering up waiting for the punch and Lapu finishes the takedown easily into guard. Zappa tries to land a sweep but no joy. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Frank Zappa dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Zappa rushes Lapu and presses him up against the cage. Zappa gets control of Lapu's arms and successfully pulls guard. Zappa will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Lapu drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Zappa manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Lapu has Zappa in his guard. Lapu working a defensive guard but Zappa passes into half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Zappa trying to work for an americana but Lapu has managed to regain full guard.
Lapu bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Zappa's guard. Zappa wants to stand up but Lapu is controlling him. Lapu stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Zappa throws up his legs and catches Lapu in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Lapu tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Zappa! That came out of nowhere!
