Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Van Wallace!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ruslam Fedor!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Aleksandr Martynov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wallace pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Fedor misses with a body punch
and Wallace holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Wallace breaks the clinch.
Wallace closes the distance and clinches.
Wallace jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Fedor walks away with a smile on his face. Wallace gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Wallace rushes Fedor and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Wallace escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Wallace darts in and clinches Fedor up against the cage.
Wallace manages to break the clinch.
Fedor throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Wallace stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Wallace slips under a jab.
Fedor cracks Wallace with a big right hand and Wallace goes down!
Wallace is rocked!
It looks like Van Wallace has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Fedor accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Oh Wallace is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fedor trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Wallace will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Fedor working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Fedor throws a big right hand that misses.
Fedor throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Wallace works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Wallace looking to hit a scissor sweep but Fedor is one step ahead there.
Fedor postures up in Wallace's guard and throws a big left but Wallace blocks it.
Wallace avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Fedor trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Fedor throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Fedor postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Wallace covers up, he's hurt! Fedor keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Fedor and the ref steps in to end the fight! Fedor can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ruslam Fedor!
