Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Diego Brandao (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Coleman Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brandao comes into the arena with Mama Said Knock You Out! - LL COOL J blaring out of the sound system. The key to victory for Diego Brandao has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

29 - 18 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Mark Coleman Jr! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Cecil Peabody and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Brandao throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Coleman Jr throws a series of punches but Brandao avoids them all with ease. Coleman Jr takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Brandao dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Coleman Jr. That did some damage! That's one minute gone in the round. Brandao throws a sloppy head kick and Coleman Jr moves out of range easily. Brandao misses with a body kick. Coleman Jr takes a shot right to the bread basket. A slow jab from Brandao misses its intended target. Brandao tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Coleman Jr shoots for a double leg takedown but Brandao sprawls well. He's pushed Coleman Jr's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Coleman Jr keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Coleman Jr closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Brandao bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! The crowd cheers as Brandao lands an impressive looking overhand right. Coleman Jr doesn't seem phased though. Brandao definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Brandao is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Coleman Jr tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Brandao defends well and Coleman Jr ends up having to push Brandao into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Coleman Jr shoots in for a takedown but Brandao shows good takedown defense. Brandao darts in and clinches Coleman Jr up against the cage. Diego Brandao is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Brandao stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Brandao wants it to stay on the feet. Coleman Jr staying out of range there. Coleman Jr uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Brandao.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Coleman Jr walks forward, straight into a front kick from Brandao. Brandao lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Coleman Jr looks for a takedown but Brandao sprawls well. Coleman Jr shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Brandao sprawls well. Brandao wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Coleman Jr gets slowly back to his feet. Coleman Jr darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Brandao is trying to stand back up but Coleman Jr is controlling him

That's four minutes gone in the round. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Coleman Jr connects with a nice short shot to Brandao's temple. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Coleman Jr working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Brandao's thigh. Brandao counters though and makes it back to full guard. Coleman Jr throws a big elbow that misses. Brandao pushes Coleman Jr off and gets back to his feet.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. A slapping leg kick lands for Brandao.

Brandao is looking to improve his position.

Brandao lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Coleman Jr's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Brandao avoiding damage as Coleman Jr throws knees to the body.

This has been an exciting period of action! Brandao breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Coleman Jr has his takedown stuffed and Brandao counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Diego Brandao has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. Brandao wants to clinch up but Coleman Jr keeps it at a distance. Brandao misses the shot to the body. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Brandao throws a leg kick that misses. Coleman Jr swats away the attempt to clinch by Brandao. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Coleman Jr postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Coleman Jr throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Brandao's waist but Brandao gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Coleman Jr off to one side. Brandao tries to close the distance and clinch but Coleman Jr swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Brandao throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Brandao throws a shot from downtown. Coleman Jr moves away and avoids it. Coleman Jr drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Brandao defends it well. Brandao stuffs the takedown. Brandao throws a right and a left that both miss. Coleman Jr shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Brandao wriggles free and stands up. Both fighters are breathing heavily. This has been an exciting period of action! Diego Brandao seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Brandao buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Coleman Jr's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down. Coleman Jr tries for a takedown but Brandao sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Mark Coleman Jr has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Coleman Jr tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
And that's the end of the fight! Diego Brandao showed his dominance in that final round. Well Brandao has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
