Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Shin Murakami (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ricky Clausen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shin Murakami! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ricky Clausen! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Shirou Masuda and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Murakami fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Clausen misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
We've been told by Murakami's head coaches at Cozad MMA Tokyo that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Murakami has taken the fight to the clinch.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Clausen on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

That's one minute gone in the round. Murakami pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Murakami stuffs the takedown attempt from Clausen. Clausen gets slowly back to his feet. Murakami is looking to counter with head kicks. Murakami scores with a kick to the midsection. Clausen throws a right and a left that Murakami avoids nicely. That's two minutes gone in the round. Murakami tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Clausen paws at him with a jab and circles away. Clausen circles away from the clinch attempt.
Murakami feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Clausen wants to stand up but Murakami is controlling him. Murakami drops back looking for a leg! Clausen is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Clausen manages to kick Murakami off! Murakami jumps back into Clausen's guard. Clausen keeping moving, preventing Murakami from controlling successfully. Clausen is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Murakami is controlling him.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Clausen uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Murakami tries to close the distance and clinch up but Clausen swats him away and circles back towards the center. Clausen unleashes a big counter combination but Murakami bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. Murakami stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Murakami wants it to stay on the feet. Shin Murakami has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ricky Clausen. Clausen throws a right and a left that both miss. Clausen shoots in for a takedown but Murakami shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Clausen looks winded! Murakami defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Clausen. Murakami is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Clausen throws out a counter right but Murakami avoids it with no problem.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Murakami throws a head kick that misses and Clausen counters with a flying knee. Nice. Clausen keeps the fight on the outside. A head kick misses from Murakami. Murakami throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Murakami tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Murakami tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Murakami gets caught flat footed, as Clausen shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Ricky Clausen will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Clausen gets slowly back to his feet. Clausen shoots for a takedown but Murakami saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Shin Murakami has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ricky Clausen. Clausen is breathing heavily. Clausen drives through with a takedown into Murakami's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Murakami bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Clausen's guard. Murakami trying to control but Clausen is working from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Murakami won't allow Clausen to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Clausen has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Murakami has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage. A nice right hand lands inside from Clausen. Murakami's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Clausen swats away the attempt to clinch by Murakami. This has been an exciting period of action! No luck with that takedown attempt from Murakami.

Clausen tries to counter by closing the distance. Murakami misses with a straight right. Murakami doesn't manage to clinch there - Clausen circles away.
Despite the aggression on Clausen's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. Murakami misses with a wild combination.
Nice takedown defense from Murakami. No joy for Clausen on that attempt. Murakami drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Clausen avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Clausen is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Murakami presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat. Clausen breaks from the clinch.
Murakami checks a low kick from Clausen. Ricky Clausen seems to be getting the better of the standup. Clausen shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Murakami as he jumps to the side. Clausen avoids the head kick by Murakami.
Clausen lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Clausen looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Murakami swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ricky Clausen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Murakami changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Murakami fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Clausen, pushing him back against the cage. Murakami keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Clausen's efforts to push away. Clausen blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Clausen takes the fight into the clinch. Clausen wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Murakami trying to control the position but instead, Clausen has worked for underhooks and has pushed Murakami into the cage. Murakami missing with knees to the body.

Clausen gets control of Murakami's arms and successfully pulls guard. Clausen will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Murakami is looking to work some ground and pound but Clausen has wrist control. Murakami stops Clausen from standing up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Murakami wants to control from the top but Clausen keeps moving. Clausen pushes Murakami off and scrambles back to his feet.
Clausen throws a body punch but Murakami moves out of range. Murakami throws a counter high kick but Clausen was just alert enough to avoid it. Clausen throws a right and a left that Murakami avoids nicely. Murakami tries to clinch there but Clausen circles away.

Clausen connects with a body shot. Murakami turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Murakami misses the shot to the body. Clausen fails to land with a series of punches.

Murakami tries to grapple but his opponent circles letting Clausen counter with a right hand. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Clausen avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
And that's the end of the fight! Ricky Clausen comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Clausen winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
