Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jere Henry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Ryder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ryder has chosen hard bass as his entrance music. Jere Henry is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Jere Henry!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jake Ryder!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, James Atkins and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Henry tries to clinch but Ryder moves out of range.

Henry gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Ryder seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Henry might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Henry tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Ryder decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Ryder throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Henry really is a fat lump.

Ryder drives through with a takedown into Henry's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Ryder slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Ryder is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Ryder closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Henry quickly recovers to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jake Ryder dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Henry decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Henry is nestled in close to Ryder, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Henry seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Ryder manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Henry keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Ryder escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Henry gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Henry got a little sloppy there for a moment and Ryder has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Henry has managed to get both his arms back between Ryder's legs - danger averted.

Henry lands a couple of elbows.

Henry is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Ryder is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Ryder has escaped and now he's on top!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Henry pulls Ryder in close to prevent any damage.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Ryder misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jere Henry will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Ryder fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Ryder shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Ryder showed some decent athleticism there.
Henry is looking to get back to is feet but Ryder passes into side control.

Henry is trying to escape the position but Ryder is controlling the position.
Henry is looking to regain half guard here but Ryder keeps moving and retains side control.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Ryder trying to control the position but Henry is working away.
Henry tries to buck Ryder off but Ryder is having none of it.
Ryder moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Henry is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Ryder is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
Ryder has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Henry is trying to escape the mount.
Ryder takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Ryder wants to control the pace but Henry is squirming around nicely.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Ryder get's back to his feet.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Ryder shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Ryder was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Ryder gets to mount! Henry was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jake Ryder comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Ryder has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
