Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Norbert Aguilar! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Joseph Stalin! The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Dmitry Maklakov and Vladimir Khabensky.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Aguilar gets the takedown into side control. Stalin is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Stalin is pressing down on Aguilar's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Stalin is looking for a triangle but Aguilar pushes his legs off easily.

Stalin parries the strikes from Aguilar easily there. Aguilar is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Stalin to escape.
You can see the frustration on Stalin's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Aguilar decides to stand back up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stalin closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Aguilar knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Stalin on the ground. Stalin is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Aguilar defends it well. Aguilar is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Aguilar manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Stalin keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage. Stalin wants the takedown. Aguilar is fighting it off but Stalin persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Aguilar's guard against the cage. Aguilar wants to stand and escape but Stalin is having none of it. Stalin trying to control but Aguilar is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Aguilar manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Stalin manages to get himself to full guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Stalin escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Aguilar gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Aguilar stands up over Stalin, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Aguilar wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Stalin's closed guard. He's half up but Stalin has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Stalin pivots and extends the arm, Aguilar falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Stalin! Well done that man!
