Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jay Gatsby (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Texas Pete (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jay Gatsby is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
22 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jay Gatsby! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
27 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Texas Pete! The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Felipe Paraventi and Seu Braga.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gatsby drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Pete is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Gatsby throwing strikes but missing. Gatsby wants to control from the top but Pete keeps moving. Gatsby cracks Pete with a solid left hand. Gatsby engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gatsby postures up in Pete's guard and throws a big left but Pete blocks it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gatsby is fighting to break Pete's control of his arms but Pete is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Gatsby content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Pete keeping moving, preventing Gatsby from controlling successfully. Gatsby with a flurry of punches that miss. Pete utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Pete pulls Gatsby in close to prevent any damage. Pete working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Gatsby.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Pete keeping full guard, as Gatsby tries to pass. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Pete controls Gatsby momentarily but Gatsby frees himself.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Gatsby steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Pete. Pete slips under a jab from Gatsby. Texas Pete is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Pete swings widly with a right hand
and Gatsby counters with a straight right hand. Gatsby lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Gatsby closes the distance looking to clinch and Pete counters with a series of strikes. Gatsby will be more careful next time no doubt. Gatsby stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Pete looks to score with a jab to the body but Gatsby is just out of range.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nice jab there from Pete. Gatsby throws a jab when Pete was well out of range. A big right from Gatsby misses. Gatsby throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Pete sees it coming and avoids it easily. Gatsby moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Pete throws a body punch but Gatsby moves out of range. Gatsby gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Pete. Pete throws the left hand but Gatsby avoids the punch easily. Pete takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Nice takedown defense from Pete. No joy for Gatsby on that attempt. Pete misses with a hook. Gatsby ducked under it nicely. Gatsby shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Pete but Pete pushes him off and we're back to square one. Gatsby loads up on a big right hand but Pete slips the punch. Jay Gatsby seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Pete avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gatsby stuns Pete with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Gatsby shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Pete manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Gatsby trying to control but Pete is working from the bottom. Gatsby is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Pete is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Gatsby is fighting to break Pete's control of his arms but Pete is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Gatsby with a nice head shot there. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pete fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Gatsby manages to avoid it. Gatsby goes for a double leg but Pete avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Pete continues to drive forward. As Gatsby backs off Pete throws a huge counter combo but Gatsby manages to avoid it all. The fight stays on the outside here - Gatsby looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Gatsby gets a clinch. Pete doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Pete lands with a nice body punch. Pete ducks under a wild hook from Gatsby. Pete checks the leg kick nicely there.

Texas Pete seems to be getting the better of the standup. Gatsby is looking to clinch. A little jabbing left from Pete on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Pete tries to land a leg kick but Gatsby saw it coming and moves away.

and Pete counters with a stiff right hand. Gatsby throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. A solid body kick from Pete. Gatsby is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pete throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Gatsby is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Gatsby gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Pete misses with a punch on the inside.

Pete's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Pete lands with a hook. Gatsby tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Gatsby is looking to clinch but Pete is avoiding it.
It seemed like Pete was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Gatsby.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gatsby loads up on a big right hand but Pete slips the punch. Gatsby looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Pete cracks Gatsby with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Pete shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Pete throws a body kick that misses. Pete throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Gatsby looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger. Gatsby connects with a nice looking jab.

A close second round but Texas Pete will probably get the nod - 10:9. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Gatsby lands an overhand right. Pete waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Gatsby. Pete thows a left - swing and a miss! Gatsby defending well as Pete loads up on a big left hand. Pete moves out of range as Gatsby throws a body kick.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gatsby bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Pete's head. Gatsby connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Pete's hands. Gatsby misses with a straight right. Gatsby changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Pete throws a sloppy head kick and Gatsby moves out of range easily.

Pete wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Gatsby gets slowly back to his feet. Gatsby lands a jab to Pete's midsection. That's two minutes gone in the round. A lazy left from Pete finds it's target. Gatsby scores with a takedown into Pete's guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Pete is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Gatsby passes Pete's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Pete wants to control but Gatsby is keeping busy and won't allow it. Gatsby looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Pete is looking for a sweep. Gatsby is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Pete wants to sweep but Gatsby has passed to side control! You can see the frustration on Pete's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Pete is not content to let Gatsby control the position. Gatsby cracks Pete with a big right hand but Pete just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Gatsby throwing strikes but Pete manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control! Gatsby struggling a bit here. Gatsby throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Pete on the side of the head. Gatsby scores with a leg kick.

Some bone on bone action there as Gatsby checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Gatsby is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Pete now looks to counter with a shot at the body. Gatsby lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Pete at a distance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A momentary lapse in concentration from Pete enables Gatsby to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Pete manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Pete utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Gatsby postures up.

Pete walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Gatsby throws a shot to the body.
Pete connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Gatsby's hands. Gatsby bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Pete's head. Gatsby takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Gatsby takes a swing at Pete's ribcage but misses. Pete keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Crunch! Gatsby slams his shin into Pete's torso. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Gatsby tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Pete paws at him with a jab and circles away. Gatsby misses with a looping left. Pete throws a low kick but it's checked well by Gatsby. Gatsby misses with an uppercut
and Pete counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Crunch! Pete slams his shin into Gatsby's torso. Gatsby throws a quick inside leg kick. Gatsby ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Gatsby tries to clinch but Pete moves out of range. Gatsby uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Pete.
Gatsby fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Pete has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close fourth round but I would say that Jay Gatsby will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Gatsby wants to pass the guard but Pete is keeping the position. Gatsby trying to control the position from guard on top but Pete is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jay Gatsby. I think Gatsby has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
