Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tyler Hall! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, King Bass! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Yves DeLean and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Excellent takedown into side control there by Bass. Bass is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Hall is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Bass moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Hall is looking to regain half guard here but Bass keeps moving and retains side control. Bass is trying to land an Americana. Bass working the ground and pound but Hall is defending the strikes.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bass swings around for an armbar but Hall sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Bass's guard. Bass working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Hall. Hall wants to control from the top but Bass keeps moving. Bass has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hall can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Hall wants to control from the top but Bass keeps moving. Hall stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bass swivels though and keeps the full guard. Bass keeping moving, preventing Hall from controlling successfully. Hall thows a big elbow that misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Hall trying to control but Bass is working from the bottom.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Hall tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Bass shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hall's guard. Bass looks gassed! Bass slips nicely into half guard. Bass looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Hall moves into full guard.
Hall is looking to stand up but Bass isn't so interested in that idea. Hall bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Bass's guard. Hall won't allow Bass to sweep him here. Bass keeping moving, preventing Hall from controlling successfully. Bass keeping full guard, as Hall tries to pass. Bass looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Hall wants to stand but Bass has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Hall trying to control but Bass is working from the bottom. Hall looking to pass the guard. Hall won't allow Bass to sweep him here. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Hall doesn't manage to clinch there - Bass circles away.
Hall fails with the takedown and Bass counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
King Bass dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Hall with a poor takedown and Bass counters with a three punch combo that has Hall backing up. Hall nods at Bass to acknowledge the strikes. Bass doesn't manage to clinch there - Hall circles away.
Hall fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Tyler Hall is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Hall lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Hall shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Hall was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Bass gets back to half guard. Bass is looking to control Hall's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Bass avoid being mounted? Hall throwing shots but Bass is blocking nicely. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Bass is pressing down on Hall's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bass wants to control the position but Hall says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bass tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Hall is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
The fighters are battling for position here. Bass manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Bass keeping moving, preventing Hall from controlling successfully. Bass working a defensive guard but Hall passes into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hall trying to control the pace.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Bass pushes Hall off looking to stand but Hall dives back in and keeps control.
Hall is controlling the pace.
Bass tries to get to full guard but Hall has control of the leg. Bass is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hall is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Bass is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:23 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Tyler Hall!
