The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McCringe looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Day is holding on to half guard well. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. McCringe passes the guard and advances to mount! Day on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Day tries to get out of the position. Day is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position. McCringe is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. McCringe has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. He's committed to the armbar attempt here! Will he get it?! Yes! Day is forced to tap!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Crose McCringe! Crose McCringe bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
