Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tony Slevin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chad Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Slevin comes to the cage accompanied by timber. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 11 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tony Slevin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
20 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chad Smith! The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, John Roberts and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smith moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Slevin connects with a looping right hand.
Slevin moves into range and connects with a jab. Slevin fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Slevin throws the left hand but Smith avoids the punch easily. Smith missing with a left hand there. Slevin was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. An attempted straight right counter from Slevin misses the target. Smith misses with a looping left. Slevin's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Smith connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Slevin scrambles back to his feet. Slevin has managed to clinch.
Slevin manages to pull guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Smith has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Slevin is proving hard to escape from. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Slevin is looking for a triangle but Smith pushes his legs off easily.
Smith decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Slevin, up you get! Slevin on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Smith. Smith obviously looking to wear him down.
Slevin throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Smith counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Smith misses with a head kick.
Slevin throws an off balance right hand
and Smith counters with a stiff right hand.
That's one minute gone in the round. Smith with a hook. Smith scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Smith takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Smith misses with a hook to the body
and Slevin counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Slevin takes the fight into the clinch. Smith is looking to control Slevin's arms but Slevin gets an underhook and turns him. Now Smith has his back to the cage. Slevin breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Smith throws a hook to the side of Slevin's head but Slevin sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Slevin clinches. I was talking to Slevin's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Slevin tries to break the clinch but Smith is controlling the position. Slevin drags the fight down to the ground.
Slevin looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Smith would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Slevin is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Smith is holding on to half guard well. Slevin prevents Smith from improving his position. Smith trying to control but Slevin postures up.
Smith is pressing down on Slevin's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Slevin trying to control the position from guard on top but Smith is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Smith preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Smith has his hands on Slevin's head, controlling the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Slevin throws a strike but Smith rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Slevin pushes a forearm under Smith's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Smith is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
