Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Simeon Malaya (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Antonio Zarco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
51 - 22 - 1, fighting out of London, Simeon Malaya! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
16 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Antonio Zarco! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Alan Glass and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A head kick misses from Malaya. Malaya scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Malaya slips a straight right by Zarco. A low kick from Malaya is predictable there and Zarco counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Zarco throws a head kick that misses. Zarco misses with a head kick.
Malaya uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Zarco. Malaya throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Zarco's head. A good leg kick by Malaya. Malaya throws a looping overhand right but Zarco ducks down to avoid it. Malaya pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Zarco raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick. Malaya misses with a right hand and Zarco counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Zarco throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Malaya sees it coming and avoids it easily. Malaya walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Zarco checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Malaya buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Zarco has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Malaya. Malaya swings for the body but Zarco moves out of range.
Malaya misses with an uppercut. Zarco saw that one coming. A head kick misses from Malaya.
That's one minute gone in the round. Malaya fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Zarco on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Malaya. Malaya obviously looking to wear him down.
Malaya throws a hook to the side of Zarco's head but Zarco sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. A low kick from Malaya misses and Zarco counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
It looks like Simeon Malaya has been cut. Malaya throws an ugly left hook that misses
letting Zarco counter with a right hand. Malaya wants to land a leg kick but Zarco is out of range. Malaya finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Nice shot lands for Malaya. A solid leg kick lands there for Zarco.
Zarco throws a half hearted mid kick. Zarco cracks Malaya with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Malaya ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Thud! ouch! good body kick from Zarco - that will leave a mark!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Zarco scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Zarco throws a head kick that misses. Malaya misses with a body shot
and Zarco counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Malaya throws a head kick that misses. Zarco appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick. Zarco checks a low kick from Malaya. Malaya checks a leg kick. Malaya moves forwards but Zarco connects with a nice, crisp jab. Zarco lands with a shot to the body. Zarco throws a shot from downtown. Malaya moves away and avoids it. Zarco lands a big head kick that sends Malaya tumbling to the mat! Zarco takes a step backwards and waves Malaya back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Malaya is rocked! Malaya drops his hands momentarily and Zarco takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Oh Malaya is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Malaya avoids the body shot from Zarco.

Malaya seems to have got his legs back now. Jab from Malaya. Zarco lands a big head kick that sends Malaya tumbling to the mat! Zarco takes a step backwards and waves Malaya back to his feet - he wants the finish! Zarco tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Malaya motions for Zarco to come forward. Malaya throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Malaya moves out of the way of the counter high kick fromZarco. Malaya throws a leg kick but Zarco sees it coming and moves out of range. Malaya tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Malaya pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Zarco walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Malaya checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Zarco uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Malaya. Zarco moves out of range of the strikes. The fight stays on the outside here - Zarco looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Malaya throws a head kick but Zarco moves out of range.
Malaya looks to land a body kick but Zarco moved away. A nice side step and Zarco releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home. The fighters circle momentarily. Malaya darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Zarco staying out of range there. Zarco takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Zarco tries to clinch up. Malaya turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Zarco stalks Malaya and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Malaya's face. Malaya staggers backwards, shaken. A jab from Malaya does it's job there. Zarco ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent. This has been an exciting period of action! Malaya drops his hands momentarily and Zarco takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Simeon Malaya seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Malaya connects with a right hand. Zarco shakes it off. Malaya looks to throw the jab but Zarco is out of range. Malaya throws a lazy right hand but Zarco sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Malaya throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Zarco counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. A swing and a miss from Zarco. Zarco drops Malaya with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Malaya looks back up at him and smiles so Zarco waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Zarco moves out of range of the body kick from Malaya.
Malaya lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Malaya bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Zarco's head. Zarco misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Zarco dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Malaya. That did some damage! A nice inside leg kick there by Malaya. That's going to slow Zarco down. Zarco smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Simeon Malaya's cut is getting worse. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Malaya misses with a low kick.
Zarco looks to score with a jab to the body but Malaya is just out of range. Zarco uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Malaya.
Zarco connects with a leg kick. Malaya looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Antonio Zarco dominated that round. The cut man is working on Simeon Malaya's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

and Zarco counters with a nice uppercut. Malaya throws a leg kick that misses. Zarco throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Malaya looks to score with a jab to the body but Zarco is just out of range. A little jabbing left from Zarco on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Zarco uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Malaya.
Zarco uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Malaya. Zarco slips under a jab from Malaya. Malaya pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Malaya thumps Zarco with a low kick. Zarco lands with a good body shot. Zarco throws a leg kick but Malaya sees it coming and moves out of range. Malaya keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Zarco has been the more effective fighter overall so far. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Malaya cracks the inside of Zarco's front leg. Zarco's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down. Zarco moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Zarco misses with a head kick.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Malaya thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Zarco if he has to take too many more of those.
Malaya bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether Malaya might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far. Malaya misses with a leg kick enabling Zarco to counter with a crisp jab.
That's one minute gone in the round. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Zarco checks a leg kick. Zarco throws a quick inside leg kick. Antonio Zarco seems to be getting the better of the standup. Zarco throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. A punch lands to the side of Zarco 's head but he takes it in his stride. Malaya fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Zarco manages to avoid it. A countering left hand to the body from Zarco misses. Malaya throws a series of punches but Zarco moves out of range. Zarco throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Zarco takes a kick to the body and keeps moving. Malaya misses with a two punch combination.
Malaya looks to land a combination but Zarco avoids it well. Zarco only half commits to the counter leg kick. Nice shot by Malaya. Malaya misses with a wild body shot. Zarco does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Zarco wants to slow Malaya down by chopping away at his legs. Zarco lands with a thumping leg kick.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Zarco throws a sloppy head kick and Malaya moves out of range easily. Malaya waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Zarco. Zarco tests Malaya's chin there with a solid looking shot. Zarco moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Zarco waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Malaya. Zarco pivots, looking for a leg kick but Malaya is out of range and Zarco settles back down. Malaya darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Zarco has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Malaya. Zarco works over Malaya's head and body with a nice combination. Malaya scores with a nice right hand.

Malaya on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Zarco tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Malaya thows a leg kick but Zarco checks it and Zarco counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Malaya tries to work over Zarco's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Zarco goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Malaya blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Malaya creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Malaya throws a head punch that misses. Malaya tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. A head punch blocked on the inside by Malaya. Zarco blocks an uppercut.

Zarco digs a right hand into Malaya's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Malaya's gas tank. We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Zarco in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off. Zarco with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Malaya tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Malaya takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Zarco lands a nice uppercut. Zarco connects with a knee to the head.
Zarco throws a head punch that misses. Malaya has a couple of punches blocked by Zarco.
Zarco jerks Malaya's head down, straight into the path of a devastating knee! Malaya drops to the floor in a crumpled heap! Zarco goes to throw a finishing haymaker but pulls out - good sportsmanship from Zarco because Malaya was completely out of it. That was a nice finish - just the right level of brutality to send everyone home happy.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:42 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Knee). Antonio Zarco! A less than humble Antonio Zarco misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
