The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Alyssa Summers and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maeda changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Smoke tries to avoid it but Maeda manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Smoke to the ground. Smoke escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Maeda takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Smoke throws a shot to the body.
Smoke connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Big Smoke seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Maeda throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Smoke counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Smoke digs a good body shot into Maeda's ribs.
Smoke misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Maeda misses with a wild body shot.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Smoke has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Smoke lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Maeda backs up against the cage.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Maeda tries to clinch but Smoke is having none of it.

Maeda takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Smoke scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether Maeda might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far.
Maeda on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Smoke fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Maeda drops down looking for a counter takedown but Smoke sprawls and moves away.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Smoke is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Maeda rather than just go for the knockout.
Smoke feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Maedas jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Maeda looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

and Smoke counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Maeda thinking.

A looping hook to the body misses from Maeda. Smoke does a little dance to reset his feet.
Smoke clobbers Maeda with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Smoke. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

and Smoke counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Smoke throws a quick head kick that knocks Maeda silly! This fight is all over! What a finish! Smoke is up on the cage, taking in the applause from the crowd.
