Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Vincenzo Milano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Hodgman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Milano comes to the cage accompanied by Fort Minor - Remember The Name. Hodgman has chosen Hallelujah I'm a Bum by Utah Phillips as his entrance music. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Vincenzo Milano! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Hodgman! The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Franklyn Lucas and Anthony Taglia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Milano throws a right and a left that Hodgman avoids nicely. Hodgman ducks under a wild hook from Milano. Milano throws a nice looking combination but Hodgman bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Milano avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Milano throws a hook to the side of Hodgman's head but Hodgman sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Milano lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Hodgman keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Hodgman feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Hodgman postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Hodgman connects with a couple of short punches. Milano has his foot on Hodgman's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hodgman works his way back into a safe position though. Milano is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Milano escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hodgman gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Milano looking for a guillotine here but Hodgman defends easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Milano looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Milano had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Hodgman is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Milano Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Hodgman's back instead. Hodgman turns into Milano and is now in his guard.
Hodgman wants to control from the top but Milano keeps moving. Milano had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Hodgman is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Hodgman has given up his back. Will we see Milano going for some submissions?
Hodgman wants to control his opponent's hands but Milano gets his hands free. Hodgman tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hodgman is trying to escape the mount.
Hodgman gets back to half guard. Milano is working for a submission of some sort.
Milano is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Milano is breathing heavily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hodgman scores with a few weak punches. Milano looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Hodgman wants to improve his position but Milano is controlling well.
Hodgman works his way to full guard. Good work. Hodgman keeping full guard, as Milano tries to pass. Milano wants to control from the top but Hodgman keeps moving. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hodgman can do anything to dispel that myth.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Hodgman checks the leg kick nicely there.
Hodgman fails in his attempt to clinch. Milano misses with a wild combination.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Milano throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Milano staying out of range there. Hodgman looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Hodgman doesn't manage to clinch there - Milano circles away.
Milano lands with a right hand. Milano throws out a loose jab but Hodgman uses good head movement to avoid it. Milano plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Vincenzo Milano is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Milano swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Milano jabbing away but nothing is landing. Hodgman moves in looking to clinch but Milano pushes him off. Milano circles away from the clinch attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but John Hodgman will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Hodgman closes the distance and clinches. Hodgman slowing the pace effectively. Hodgman connects with a knee to the head.

Milano looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Hodgman has picked Milano up and slammed him! Milano can't keep hold of the triangle and Hodgman manages to pass to side control! Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hodgman lands an elbow. Hodgman landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Hodgman landing a few strikes. Milano tries to buck Hodgman off but Hodgman is having none of it. Hodgman lands an elbow. Milano tries to improve position but can't. Hodgman grinds an elbow into Milano's temple. Milano sneaks back into half guard. Nice strikes from Hodgman there. Milano trying to control from the bottom.
Milano wants to get back to full guard. Hodgman takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Hodgman looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Milano with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Hodgman connects with a nice short shot to Milano's temple. Milano looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Hodgman working over Milano with some ground and pound. Milano looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hodgman winds up and cracks Milano with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Ground and pound from Hodgman. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Milano is looking to control Hodgman's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Milano avoid being mounted? Milano tries to get to full guard but Hodgman has control of the leg. Hodgman landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Hodgman with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Hodgman drops an elbow to the side of Milano's head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hodgman prevents Milano from improving his position. Milano looking for submissions off his back. Hodgman is looking to stall here but Milano recovers full guard. Hodgman trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Hodgman with a nice head shot there. Hodgman makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Hodgman throws a big right hand that misses. Milano trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Hodgman is working Milano over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Milano is looking to sinch up a triangle. Hodgman throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Milano's body to avoid the submission. Milano has instead reached around Hodgman's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Milano arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
