Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between BJ Chavez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eduardo Batista (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Eduardo Batista!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Michael Johnstone and Dirk Anderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Batista shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Chavez pinned against the cage. Chavez gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Chavez shoots in and drives through. Batista sprawls well.

Batista has picked Chavez up - he's going for a ride! Batista dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Chavez manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Batista keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
Chavez is pressed up against the cage. Batista has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Chavez down to the mat. Chavez avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Chavez got a little sloppy there for a moment and Batista has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Chavez has managed to get both his arms back between Batista's legs - danger averted.

It looks like Eduardo Batista has been cut.
Batista takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Chavez feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Chavez fails to land with a series of punches.

Eduardo Batista has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
BJ Chavez is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Chavez cracks Batista with a big right hand but Batista just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Well Chavez has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
