Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ruud Van Hall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Standish (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Van Hall comes to the cage accompanied by Nico Vega - Beast. The key to victory for Ruud Van Hall has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
15 - 19 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ruud Van Hall! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jake Standish! The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Jorge Garcia and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Van Hall avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
An attempted straight right counter from Van Hall misses the target. Van Hall throws a series of punches but Standish avoids them all with ease. Standish looking to score a takedown here. Van Hall is defending well but Standish drives through and ends up in Van Hall's guard. Van Hall wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Standish manages to pass to side control. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Standish in particular looking to stall. Van Hall is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Standish scores with a couple of nice shots. Standish keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Standish passes to full mount! Standish controlling from the full mount. Van Hall has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
That's one minute gone in the round. It looks like Standish might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Van Hall knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Standish on the ground. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Standish cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Standish has control of Van Hall's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Van Hall regains control of the situation pretty easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Standish wants to finish this one by submission but Van Hall is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Standish. Van Hall is wriggling around trying to escape.
Standish looking to control and managing it successfully. Standish looking to secure an arm triangle but Van Hall defends it well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Van Hall in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Standish with shots to the head and body - Van Hall looks very uncomfortable down there. Standish controlling from the full mount. Standish in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Standish takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Standish stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing. No joy there for Van Hall, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Standish wants to clinch and Van Hall counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Van Hall tries to keep at a distance but Standish has taken the fight into the clinch. Standish jumps guard and drags Van Hall to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Standish bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Van Hall's guard. Standish's corner is telling him to maintain position. Van Hall has his foot on Standish's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Standish works his way back into a safe position though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jake Standish dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Van Hall jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Van Hall misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Standish.
Van Hall darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Good exchange - Van Hall coming out on top. Van Hall lands with a right hand. Standish ducks under a wild hook from Van Hall. Van Hall throws a head kick that misses. Van Hall misses the shot to the body. Standish takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Van Hall connects with an inside leg kick. Ruud Van Hall is winning the standup battle so far. Van Hall throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Standish steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Van Hall. Standish scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Standish connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Van Hall some visible discomfort.
The referee asks Standish politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Standish prefers to stall for the moment though. Standish scoring with punches from side control. You can see the frustration on Van Hall's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Standish lands a few punches from side control. Standish is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Van Hall's shoulder. That is not cool. Standish working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Standish works to advance to full mount. Van Hall defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Standish stands up from mount. Strange move. Standish walks into a straight right hand from Van Hall. Standish moves in looking to clinch but Van Hall pushes him off. Ruud Van Hall is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Standish has closed the distance and engaged Van Hall in a clinch.
Van Hall wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Standish has him pressed against the cage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Standish tries for a takedown. No joy.
Standish breaks from the clinch.
Van Hall looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Van Hall blocks a head kick by Standish.
The fighters circle momentarily. Van Hall darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Some wild striking there from Van Hall.
Standish throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Standish avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Standish changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Van Hall avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Ruud Van Hall seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Standish on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Standish blocks a jab. Standish has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Standish shoots in and gets a takedown into Van Hall's guard. Standish controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Standish has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Van Hall wants to sweep here but Standish controlling him for the moment. Standish engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Standish gets to his feet - Van Hall follows without any prompting. Standish feints and as Van Hall raises his hands in defense, Standish changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Van Hall is wriggling around but Standish manages to pass to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Standish has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Van Hall defend it? Standish steps over the head and cranks it - Van Hall is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Standish!
