Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
22 - 25 - 0, fighting out of New York, Akiro Sata! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kurt Shann! The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Anthony Taglia and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sata dodges the punch combination from Shann.
Sata lands a glancing blow to the side of Shann's head. Shann falls off balance throwing a combination
and Sata counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. A punch combination from Shann misses. Shann fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Sata feinted there with a counter leg kick. Sata closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Shann's guard. Shann looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Sata puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Sata has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage. Sata trying to control the pace. Sata maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Shann could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Sata has cracked it and Shann is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Sata!
